Description
An assignment I did for a current class, each student got a random tarot card, I happened to get card #14 temperance.There are a good few meanings to this pic, but I'll spare the details.

wow, u make the atmosphere in the picture look so calming O-O HOW U DO THAT!? when i try to draw a scary pic it luks funny when i draw a dramatic pic the face gets messed up, so, HOW!?? gosh, ur awesome ;A;

lol Sorry for the extremely late response, I have a new account and I rarely check this one.
Honestly I just think of situations where I want to feel something (with a little help from reference), from there the color and key usually falls into place. Also certain elements communicate certain things, sound of water and music are things I find relaxing.

nice painting, it is really detailed, I think you can get better with the water, because it has stones under it, so the waves and their reflections shoud be different... besides, its quiet or relaxing, and kind of funny for me with my refference

In five years, you've improved greatly, and the two pandas really do serve nicely as testimonies to how much you've improved - not to mention that the picture itself is great. Love the serene look of things all around, and it does look photo-realistic to the untrained eye, so great work.

nicely done. i'm a huge fan of tarot cards and the stories behind them. this is a lovely rendition, and such a furry friendly to symbolize it.

Also, I can't tell if he's playing the bamboo flute or eating it, but if he's playing it, he's holding it wrong. That's just me being nitpicky.

Hey, I know of someone who paints with their hands rotated 180 degrees and another person that paints with his mouth, sometimes the correct way isn't always the strongest method.
