I found a start of a comic I wanted to do almost a year ago when I came from a trip in Valencia. I never got past these two steps but I wrote down the whole dialogue and I laughed yesterday when I found it. It's a pretty mean (and lame) comic that grew from the fact that after a whole week in Valencia (amazing city btw, worth a visit) we met maybe three people that understood English, and one of them was a French immigrant. XD Me and mom were pretty lost the first three days before dad arrived, too, who speaks a bit of Spanish and made it easier to form some kind of communication.Casey: Raph, Bro! Check out this whack snappy music thingie!
Raph: Castanets...?
Casey:*in super strong American accent* Wanna Flame- Enco?"
Raph: Are... -Do you mean flamenco? The super passionate and romantic Spanish dance?
Casey: *sweats* Mhm...(?)
Raph: Casey are you coming out to me-
Casey: Nooo...
Raph: -as Spanish?
Casey: Yes! I mean, also no. What? Do I give away a Spanish vibe??
Raph: Well your English vocabulary is definitely very limited.

Spain have a tipical dance called "PASO DOBLE" (double step) and it have modism, personally in Mexican, but recently i have learned the manners of the country Spain and i have learned their spanish accent or its modisms, like i have said previously.

Spanish people speaking english is the same 
THat's why spanish people usually don't speak english (and I'm spanish, I know what I say XDDDD).
I have to use it in my job but it's really hard to find a person who speaks english if you want to find anything in a city, and I really still make mistakes, I know.
Well I suppose if I go to any foreign country will be very difficult to find somebody who speaks spanish as well

I have never thought much about this comic and Raph's knowledge of castanets and flamenco. This is completely basic knowledge to me that everyone knows... but apperantly I was wrong! Didn't really want to make Raph seem interested in Spain at all! XD

Oh gosh, I can't even imagine how bad Casey's Spanish would be! Remember when I was talking about Americans speaking Spanish with an annoyingly strong American accent? His would be the worst ever. I just know it. XD
And somehow it really surprises me that Raph knows the name of both castanets and the flamenco. Honestly, I don't know that I would have been able to come up with either of those words... :/

This is also the reason I went to immediately color this sketch! Because we were just talking of terrible American accents, and I couldn't stop saying "flame-enco"! XD Casey's Spanish must be awful!! haha! XD
Really? I mean, I have now realized from some of the other comments, that castanets and flamenco apperantly don't fit into "basic everyday knowledge". I haven't thought about it once while making this. Everyone here knows what those two things are so I didn't think that would be something weird for Raph to know...

Yeah... not common American knowledge. If had mentioned the Tango, I would imagine Raph would know what that was, (or you know, the Polka! XD) but you can't really mispronounce Tango so badly, so it wouldn't have been as funny. As for castanets, that's one of those words that, when I see it, I know what it is, but if I was just to look at one, I would probably refer to it as a "clicky music thingy". 
But the picture was still funny, and I have to say, I really love the way you draw Casey.
