Description Apophysis Tutorial - Part 1

Ok - this was started sometime in hmm...july I think and I forgot to finish it

I wanted to make a quick crash course on what Apo icons Do - do and maybe put some tips, I will continue with it ...
mind you it might be a bit confusing since now the icons are changed a bit in `Xyrus02 Apo7X we all using ....
but that's too bad, Im way to lazy to re-write the whole thing !!

I shall probably split it into parts This is what I got so far
Suggestions? Please comment !!
If you download, then please fave it as well

Thank you so much, trying to help out a bit
I was stuck pressing buttons for weeks, when I was just starting to use Apo

yeah
I can't say I use apophysis so much myself, but it is certainly helpful for people starting out to know what things are for! I did the trial and error experimentation when i started out

Iwona! This must have taken you hours to make. You are great to take this job on you. I am sure all the new apo user will love you for it! This tutorial should be integrated in apo somehow in order that every new user finds it. Congratulation Iwona.

Btw. Can you explain to me the difference between Rectangular and Polar (deg) in the transform tab? I am to stupid to see the difference between one and the other.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fiery-Fire In reply to baba49 [2009-11-23 12:51:32 +0000 UTC]

Yes!!! and this is why I did it, since when I was starting out last year....
I had no clue what the buttons are doing and I had to ask about every single
thing I wasn't sure ...trying to make things easier for the newbies

That's just coordinate display - Rec shows cartesian coordinates of each triangle
point, Polar shows lenght of triangle arm and angle

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

baba49 In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-11-23 14:35:36 +0000 UTC]

Thank you Iwona for explaining. This switch still doesn't make sense to me. All I can see when I switch from polar to Rectangular or vice versa is that the coordinate numbers change but I see no visual effect on the flame. I moved a triangle to the right by 1 using the arrow while having the Transform set to polar and again when set to rectangular but I get the same effect when I move the triangle. What is the purpose of this function?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fiery-Fire In reply to baba49 [2009-11-24 18:39:47 +0000 UTC]

well....there is a sense to it, but I find everybody uses what
they first get use to
If you have a specific angle for your xfrom I guess that would make
things much easier
Im rectangular user 99% of the time

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

baba49 In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-11-25 21:31:57 +0000 UTC]

Thank you Iwona. Since it does not seem influence the flame quality at all, I stick to rectangular, too

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fiery-Fire In reply to baba49 [2009-11-26 06:05:45 +0000 UTC]

hahahaa..it has nothing to do with quality, yeshh
just tell you where you triangle is in the plane

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

baba49 In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-11-27 01:25:39 +0000 UTC]

Pity

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fiery-Fire In reply to baba49 [2009-11-27 02:26:59 +0000 UTC]

hahaa..quality control is only in render ...the rest is up to you,
what you make

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

baba49 In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-11-27 09:16:30 +0000 UTC]

Wouldn't it be wonderful if that button would just move the transforms to make accurate patterns upon clicking on it and make messy lines disappear

baba49 In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-11-29 23:06:47 +0000 UTC]

Fiery-Fire In reply to baba49 [2009-11-30 01:56:43 +0000 UTC]

I think if any developer would have made that, they would keep it for themselves

Oh, I think this was just great, Fiery-Fire! And it will definitely help newbies who might want to experiment with this wonderful program. And I cannot wait to see how Xyrus02's METAPHYSIS turns out--should be great. And please feel free to call me Sheldon, by the way.
