well, this is how CabinTom and some older guys did this
and I was told, that's the right way (since Apo.org is the
only one, which goes thru full installation )
it works great for Me ...everything is in one place.

One important thing to mention would be how many plugins are allowed in the folders for each version, because that's where most mistakes happen with a new install. Perhaps you could add that when you have a minute

This one is tricky, I could mention, that the limit is high ...after
apo2.08 beta - but it's still not unlimited, now it depends on
the size and speed of your computer - mine goes to about 110
per each plugin folder

baba49 In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-11-25 21:23:56 +0000 UTC]

True. Probably it also depends on how complex the plugins are. I never could add 110. How much ram does your pc have?

Oh, that's what I have. Maybe I try once more to add more plugins. If yours can handle 110 mine should too I supose

Hmm...I split mine, 2d are in one folder and 3d are in the other,
so I have slightly different sets there
Plus anytime I wanna try something new I swap things around, the onces
I don't use often - move them out and then add new

I have have two folders too and different number of plugins in both but I am lazy and don't often switch them around. I would do that more often if I could do it while apo is open but I hate to shut it down then move plugins around, start apo etc.

ApoJK is in sourceforge.net - same as Apo2.09 and hack

Ok, I've got everything set up properly except for Step 6, putting the plugins in their folders. I have one folder I use that has both 2d and 3d in it. I'm assuming you mean I just copy and paste the plugins I have into the new folders. I was told that they didn't need separate folders for the current versions. I don't know which are which.

Well I know from my experience that apobeta hates 3D plugins
soo for that sake I never put them together with the rest of
2d's .... there is also a few 2d plugs wich don't work in 3d
so for those simple reasons I have them in 2 folders

Ok, I backed up my whole apo folder on my USB drive and then uninstalled everything to do with apo. I downloaded it again, reinstalled it, downloaded all the betas and the plugin packs from sourceforge. Now, where do I get the 3D plugins and why can't I see the default plugins that come with the original apo? I still do not see the linear plugin. Do I need to start up apo for the first time or something?

This is a hell of a lot of work for a single plugin.

Fiery-Fire In reply to FractalCoeur [2009-05-08 02:26:05 +0000 UTC]

well I'm really puzzled because as you say if you downloaded and all
the files anew, then all the default plugins are there. they not displaying
until you open the program they gonna be on the list
3D plugins should be listed in the supermassive plugin pack from Fractal Resorces

yup i think you right - but linear is a basic, very basic plugin, you have to have it.

FractalCoeur In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-05-07 18:13:37 +0000 UTC]

Ok, well I haven't moved any of my plugins yet, and I still don't see the linear plugin.

Fiery-Fire In reply to FractalCoeur [2009-05-08 02:17:17 +0000 UTC]

Linear plugin is build-in in the program and the plugins which
are build-ins don't display seperatly, they already apart of apo

FractalCoeur In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-05-08 03:10:24 +0000 UTC]

Ok then, I didn't know that. I was beginning to suspect it though after reading over the supermassive.

Now that is a truly useful resource - the only thing I would add is something about the maximum number of plugins you can load at any one time.....I can never remember how many it is - is it 27? And has anyone worked out how many you can stuff in to the 208JK version in one go?

Fiery-Fire In reply to wingsail [2009-05-07 06:41:11 +0000 UTC]

i made this is for one of my watchers ...since she was having problems
with installing things ...actually in new apos there is no limit
a lot of us have about 100extra plugins added at a time
not sure about JK ...imostly use beta2 or new hack
