I would like to say that first of all, I am not easily upset. It takes a true master of either words or art to upset me. But this drawing brought me close to tears. Seeing John baking (miracles!) to get closer to his Dad... I haven't even reached the point where Dad Egbert dies and I already feel a little crack forming in my heart because of this fanart.
Your technique is near-flawless, and truly captures the moment that you set out to portray. The colors and shading are perfection, and all the small details such as the batter stains on John's shirt and the ingredients across the table just go to show that this is an exceptional piece.
I give your originality a four because a have seen a few similar pieces across the internet, although yours stands out quite nicely. All in all, this gets approximately a 4.6 star average. Congratulations.

I'm crying, Dadbert has always been one of my favorite guardians and this just hurts me to the point of no return. I think you are an amazing artist and this piece is beautiful but...it just hurts.

like i know the drawing is really sad since it involves john doing something he wont normally do, but he did it as a memory of his father
but saying stuff like
"I dont need this" or "this made me sad" actually really hurts the artist since they felt like they did something really bad to hurt you when they never intended to <:/
trust me, this has happened to my friend yesterday when she posted a sadstuck story and most of her readers were saying stuff similar to what i said and it effected her in a way cos she felt like she really hurt people's feelings when it was just a request

Lol xDD Well, I never really get this kind of reply, seeing as how most stuff I post like this the artist always says something like "XD Thank you" or "I'm glad you liked it" and I've commented stuff similar to this on her other works and she kinda said like the thanks thingy, so I didn't think it made her sad XP
But I guess I do understand what you mean.
But I guess you also have to look at it from another person's view.
Like me, it could be a way of expressing how deep the feelings were that the story/picture gave you, and that you simply loved it so much.

This is purposely Sad and Nostalgic Stuck *sweatdrops* That's what I described for Fesh to draw ya know, plus Fesh is more then used to "THE FEEEEELS" *giggles* No need to be so harsh on the poor sap. I did inteed for this to make people Sad but give them small lil smiles at it too ^^
