Ferrets are not wild animals. They are purely a domestic creature and have never been wild. This is a polecat. Just so you know :-D

This made me want to look into it more and double check. Apparently there is one type of wild ferret - the blackfooted ferret that is endangered. I am glad I found my mistake! Here is a neat site about them: [link]
