Some sketches I've done over the last few months, introducing some new characters and ships... owo

1. Dumbbell and Rainbow Dash got married quite quickly, but both of them felt that there was something that was missing in their marriage. So, they decided to start a family; but after having a foal, Cherry Bomb, it was clear that the void wasn't filled. Behind each other's backs, they started to each see someone, acting as though they weren't cheating. However, they ended up both seeing the same stallion; *Double Diamond; he had no clue Rainbow and Dumbbell were married, let alone to each other. At some point, he realized, and decided to spill the beans. It was definitely a surprise, but Rainbow had an idea.

"Heyyy... maybe this could work?"

Needless to say, Double Diamond joined their relationship, though he isn't married to them. He prefers to keep himself open relationship-wise, and may have children elsewhere, but he fathered Hazy Daydream, Rainbow's only daughter. It's unsure who fathered Rainbow Hotshot, the middle child. Diamond's quite often present around the house too, taking on the role of a third parent when he is, and he doesn't mind being called "Pops". Everyone is pretty okay with the living arrangement.

3. This little duo of babies are my new characters, Blackberry Ginger Ale and Red Velvet. Who are their parents you may ask? Cherry Jubilee and Sugarbelle. "Hey, Feline, don't you already ship Cherry with Flim?" Yeah. But I don't like Sugarbelle so I decided to make her screw up someone's life aha

Essentially, Sugarbelle was down and out, pregnant after being cast out by Big Mac for cheating on him (yes, "Big Sugar" does exist in my universe, but he has another name), and Cherry was who she was cheating on him with. Jubilee kindly offered a place for Sugarbelle to stay, with her, Summer Sweet, and Flim.

She and Flim are married out of convenience and they're fine with the other sleeping around, but Sugar was still hesitant because staying with them was a whole other ballgame. Regardless, she stayed with Cherry and had her son, Fig Butter. It was clear to the both Cherry and Sugar, though, that they liked each other more than they thought, and decided to secretly start a family together; lying that Flim was the father both times. Thus, Blackberry Ginger Ale and Red Velvet are their biological kids, but they all live together with Flim too. Flim probably knows and technically adopted them anyway, and he's listed as a legal guardian of them.

4. Delving into some characters, I realized I don't have too many canon ships. Technically I leave it open for interpretation and prefer to let people ship who they want, but this is one ship that I quite like. Poppysweet Meadow and Sugar Rush were never particularly close as children, as Sugar Rush is the best friend to Poppy's brother, Bumblebee Comet. It was clear they were crushing on Poppy from afar, though. However, when Poppy entered the cadets, all Rush could do was say goodbye, and they decided to do it in private. It was only then when Poppy admitted (shown above, her crying) that she was super stressed about the whole thing. Sugar comforted her, made sure she was able to write to them, before leaving.

Eventually Poppy comes back briefly and decides that Sugar was a good listener; they indeed are a good listener, and a great comfort to Poppy. In fact, quite a good physical comfort too. Since Rush is a pegasus, they have a lot of downy-soft feathers on their neck, which Poppy likes to nuzzle when she gets tense. Little does she know that Rush is rediscovering their affectionate feelings for her yet again.

*Double Diamond used to be shipped in my universe with Marble Pie, but that has since been revamped. Marble is shipped with Svengallop.

Side note: Blackberry Ginger Ale is genderfluid (mostly they/them, but any pronouns are fine), Red Velvet is female (she/her), Poppysweet Meadow is female (she/her), and Sugar Rush is nonbinary (they/them).
