Description
A commission for `Gwendolyn12 , who wanted a fairy with green hair. It was fun drawing people with pointy ears after so many years.
Her hair doesn't look like hair but rather like a head scarf. It looked better to me this way when I made the drawing, for some reason. Also, poppies are very hard to get right (which is silly, because they are very simple flowers in real life) so I hope they look like they're poppies and not, let's say, daisies.
Anyway, Gwen, I hope you like it.
Done with watercolors and inks.
And no, she is not naked, she's just... not wearing any clothes. It's not the same thing.

I think it looks like hair, although I can see your point with the headscarf bit... where the hair joins with the forehead, if you get what I mean?
I think the colours contrast and complement each other effectively here, but what is most stunning is the way you've incorporated so many shades... and it has a great solid/grounded feel to it as well, especially with the hair and all.
It's awesome how you've filled out the background, even though it's not of anything, particularly.

I got to the conclusion that if I try and keep a piece as simple as possible (in terms of color and details), it always turns out for the better. I'm glad you like it.

omg poppies are one of hardest flowers for me to paint! I mean I can paint a rose but poppy is beyond me

That tutorial book sounds awesome, especially if it's for watercolors. Flowers tend to look more... natural if they're done in watercolors, as if the paint resembles some of their lightness and transparency of the petals (lol I think too much).
It's strange knowing that you also paint, I thought you were mainly a photographer.

I wanted to have effect as here: [link] (on the back side of these oil pastels is lovely step by step tutorial how to paint poppies, I think it's a wonderful idea to have something like that on art products

They resemble poppies, so you got that nailed down.
Dunno, what worked for me was painting them as seen from above, not the profile. I just drew a round-ish shape (way of saying, it looked more like an amoeba 
Maybe there's a better approach to it, but that's how I do it.

And ooh, how beautiful the flowers are<3 Definetly poppies, saw them right away. Somehow the vine-like hair is my big favorite in here, even though I'm not into hair that is almost as if glued together into a big wig (or a scarf as you said), but in here... It's so pretty!!

Really? It looks very close to the original on my monitor. It's like not I did anything dramatic to it, just increased the contrast and did some stuff to the brightness.

increasing the contrast loses fine detail in the light-coloured areas, and makes colours not blend together that well. Use it veery very sparingly.
