Description Set the scene, it's a beautiful day,
The birds sing and children play,
Sunlight gleams over,
Translucent morning dew,
As baby birds coo softly for their mother and,
For the first time, it occurs to you that,
The world is perfect.

Except it falls apart.

The world is terrible, but you already knew,
Somewhere deep inside that,
People die and people kill and,
The merry-go-round of self-respect and,
Disposition goes,
Up, down, up, down endlessly and,
Never ever stops spinning.

It's worth it, for the good,
No matter how severe the bad since,
At least the music let's you hum beside it and,
Pretend you’re the alike the other people,
Or, at any rate, getting better at faking it.

You dig your fingertips into the horse's neck,
While watching the people close go down with you,
Knowing that, at least, this is common for you all.

(Common? You're a freak, but,
I'm selfish, so please,
Go down with me,
Go down with me,
While throwing up every,
"It's worth it,
For you,
For this,"
Onto the dewy flowers,
Overshadowed by perfect,
Porcelain horses,
Trying to hide the fact,
They're never worth it.)

I smile to you and ask, green in the face,
"If we go down together, maybe it'll hurt less," and,
All you do is garble back, "Sure,"
While playing chicken with your stomach bile.

What if I told you,
Everything moral hypocrisy,
Is to hide the horrible truth that,
You're a terrible liar,
To me, to you, to God,
To the ceramic horse you coo,
"Just a little further, honey," to?

(It'll hurt less going together, huh,
You just want to see me,
Crack. For. You.
But Jack won't break her crown,
She'll sit in her castle, brains still attached and,
Wait for Jill to come tumbling after.)

AND WHO WAS THIS BASHING, ME OR YOU?
I can't remember anymore so,
You ride aimlessly on the carousel,
Up, down, 'round 'n' 'round,

Convincing yourself it's worth,
Everything.

(Let's play morally chicken,
I'll teach you how to fix yourself,
Just so only I know how to break you down again,
Because I'll sink further,
Than you've ever thought possible,
Just to hear you say,
Mercy.)

It's worth it all,
To break apart,
Just to know,
Where the pieces go.

POSTSCRIPT;—
JULIET ALWAYS FALLS, SO DON’T PICK THE PART!

You're in love, old enough to know better but,
Enough of an idiot to give it a try.
You don't get broken to pieces in the end so,
Maybe it was worth it,
Just to know what inevitable heartbreak feels like.

(Sitting in the middle of a road, the busy cars bustling past and,
Each time they inch closer and closer to your thighs and,
You know, it's only a matter of time.)
