Description What's that, FÂł has queer OCs and queer fancharacters too?? Oh but what about the sanctity of marriage, iS sHe ThInKiNg AbOuT tHe ChIlDrEn???

So anyway, as is written on the doodle itself, those are my Fallout Characters. Don't question the yellow, blue and green overlays on top of them, that's based on the HUD color I use in each respective games (New Vegas, 4 and 3). Also left-to-right is the order of which OC I came up with first to last, it ain't that cryptic.

The most that really changed with Reyes is her actual age (she started as a 21 year old lass, she keeps getting a little older) and whether or not she still has her left eye. Other than that, she pretty much wears her sexuality on both her sleeves. There are some tropes that are kinda problematic to throw at pansexual characters, like being hypersexual and unfaithful, and I do try to keep from falling into that trap with her ; to some extent, I probably failed while trying to make it fun. Had she been in the role of a Sole Survivor or a Lone Wanderer instead, I can imagine her being part of a polycule where she would only entertain a sexual relationship with multiple romantic partners and everybody involved would actually be in love, not an harem type of situation where a group shares one person. As it stands as Courier Six, she's more of a one-night-stand type of gal with one or two friends with benefits, no romantic ties-in. Much to my own realisation as to why that is the case, she is married to her job and her heart is more closed off than she looks, silly drawings not withstanding. She however craves the company of other people and when she is left on her own, the radio is always on.

Not sure what Fallout 4's take on a retro-futuristic 40's would be like for queer folks. If it's anything like our current climate where there are still people crying the same arguments over and over for years when they see a rainbow and there are countries where being LGBT+ is still treated as a criminal offence, whelp, this ain't radiant. Maybe because of societal or familial expectations, I imagine Aaron not being too keen on exploring that part of himself nor talking openly about it so he didn't risk the scrutiny. Obviously, that's a very small part of the character that doesn't even really come into play in-game : he doesn't flirt very often at all and has a few reservations about starting a serious relationship in a monster-riddled apocalyptic wasteland, especially after losing his wife while he was cryogenised. Their relationship wasn't going too well (shocking, having a kid didn't make him any less depressed nor their marriage any stronger) and they weren't holding that much love for eachother to begin with, but still, the guilt never left. Still, he's more honest with his feelings than he used to be, that's a start.

Sawyer is a virgin that has zero interest in sex or pursuing a relationship and keeps their nose in their own projects instead. They care about people to some extent, but they're also a moody young adult that pretends otherwise until it bites them in the ass. On a lot of things, they're pretty contradictory : they're more brain than brawn but they will throw a punch before trying to find a middle-ground, they're hyperfocused on finding their dad but they will be sidetracked by technology and broken things to repair. One thing they don't budge on, it's their total lack of romantic interest or sex-drive : I'm aware it's a dumb trope to have ace characters just be "ignorant" about sex, but that subject eludes him entirely. I like to imagine some girl or some boy came up to Sawyer one time when they were a teen in Vault 101 and they didn't pick up on any of that person's attemps to ask them out, to which Amata had to explain to Sawyer what actually that was all about later on.

Also, all three characters are on different levels of the Gender Binary scale, but I'm not really well informed on identity flags to assign them any.

Whelp, felt like getting it out there in this month of pride, as you do.
For anybody in the Fallout community, ya got some queer stories to share about your Couriers, Survivors and Wanderers OCs? C'mon, don't be shy, it doesn't even need to be elaborate : sometimes you just want your fancharacter to date your fave and that's ok!
Heck, if not Fallout, maybe some other property, I'm not picky.
