- it believed that the hippogriff is a crossbreed between a male griffin and a mare horse, but this has been debunked fast since it has been proven they are a species called Hybrid which is a type of animal which looks like two different animals set into one.

- they originally come from the planet Quatos. this was proven after seeing similar species on the sister planet. they are considered as native species since it was over 1 million years ago they came to Anuvina.

- Like horses, they can have different colors and mane length. They can even have spots and stripes. Even the feathers/beak can have different colors
- Hippogriff eats roots, berries, and carcass. they don't hunt but simply eat something there is already dead.

- they use their front legs to hold down their food while eating. they also use them in fight.

- Hippogriff lives in big herds with sometimes over 60 herd members. in breeding period the males will fight(rarely to the death but they will still be bloody) to get the change to mate a female or more. the more fight the stallion wins, the more right he has to breed more than one mare.

- mares raise their young on their own. a lot of the older mares have found a technic in staying close to a stallion and when danger is too near, he would be forced to fight while the female and young can escape. if the male survives the attack, the mare will automatically allow the male to breed her and by that making sure she always has a 'willing' bodyguard near her.

- Hippogriffs migrate. they stay near the mountain in the summer and then seek out on the more flat field in the winter. they are literally forced to leave the foot of the mountain when herpes and grass they normally eat is covered in snow. they seek out the open field where they mostly live in far smaller groups and probably have a better chance to survive the winter but digging after grass under the snow or eating the one who died in the cold.
