The scene here depicts one of the main SatelliteSoda antagonists, Deadfang (top), in hot pursuit of the main characters Chase/Kid Missile and Azure.

What a beautiful piece! It made me catch my breath when I first saw it, it's just so well done! The poses of the character's, as well as the awesome angle and wonderful composition really combine together well to create a heart stopping scene!

As to your question, no I didn't use any 3D. The line art of the background was drawn in Photoshop (straight line tool). I've often thought about teaching myself Sketchup or some similarly simple 3D program, to build the basic geometry of a location. But at the end, I feel that'll make sense once I start to pose characters in a scene repeatedly, with different camera angles and so on.
Since this is just a stand alone illustration, it was faster to just draw the background (for me).

its looks good. but I took me a few seconds before I figure out the perspective, I though the were falling in vertically, but I see they are falling to the center of the point , really odd to look at it.

They are flying vertically, aka towards the ground.
Unless that's what you meant as in it took a while to understand. In which case, that's actually intentional. I like the way foreground might let one believe they're flying through a corridor at first glance. Then after a bit one realizes they're actually falling down and that perceived shift in perspective is how I'd want this scene to feel if it were animated, for example.

There's a little bit of dream inspiration here for sure. I think most people can relate to that falling sensation in a dream and that did actually spark the idea for this, along with some other things.
