Description In The Magician's Nephew, Jadis is revealed to be a native of Charn (a different world entirely from Narnia), where she descended from a long line of kings and queens. This line began well, with honorable, decent-hearted people, but it grew evil and malevolent over many generations. Charn's final queen, Jadis, a powerful sorceress, having destroyed Charn for political gain, abandons it for the world of Narnia.

The Magician's Nephew describes Jadis as almost overwhelmingly beautiful and terrifying. I almost pictured her as this angelic being who is actually the terrifying ruler of a wasteland kingdom.

This is supposed to be a 'royal portrait' of her before she enters Narnia.

*reads description* well that explains why she's so pretty (not sexy, but maybe she's not mean't to be at this point?) Yeah, that's a good design for a doll for a girl. Empress Queen Jadis Barbie, former decent royalty gone psycho/genocidal to her own world for prideful and political reasons....sounds like what some people grow up to be so should be a hit!

The only thing I see is that I was pretty sure she had dark hair.

Oh well. Like I really need an excuse to reread those books.

Her hair color is never mentioned in the novel.

This is gorgeous!

Even though she hasn't yet turned white as chalk (or was it white as salt?), you can tell by looking at her why Edmund was fooled by her at first.

An excellent interpretation!

She makes a really good villain, I was surprized when I read TLTWTW the first time because her bookart looked so much like my teacher

beautiful.
Great job, you get so detailed.

The only thing I see that could be improved is that the eyes look like she's tilting her head to the side, but her head is not doing so. So yeah.

Did you digitally color this? Or did you do a wash?
