Description
Here, I tried to portray Freyr in as much of his glory as I can: As a weather god whose wings are rain clouds and whose hair is sunlight, as a beautiful god of love and fertility, as god of wealth, as son of the sea. Left out the agricultural aspect 'cause he's in the middle of the ocean
The pose is of course from Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus " - in fact, I originally used the general look of this "Freyr" for my attempt at a "male Venus" last year. Even back then I also wanted to try something a bit further away from Botticelli's concept, so this is that.
Also, a shout-out to Katherine of SpaceFrog Designs , whose metallic-textured nature paintings hugely influenced me here!
