Unbeknownst to the Amazon Nation, Ares himself is the cause for the decades long rift & conflict among the Amazons. Being one of the few remaining godlike beings who still retains his power & vitality by way of human worship & the Amazons being the only beings on the mortal plane to still actively acknowledge & pay homage to him & other Olympians, Ares fears his power will diminish upon learning of Queen Antiope's plan to have the Amazons attempt to fully integrate into contemporary society and set aside many of their warrior traditions for a life of peace in "Man's World".
