Seth in this alternate Marvel Universe is a powerful Deviant Eternal, grandson of the High Eternal founder of the faction that became the Heliopolitan Eternals, Atum and brother of the current head of the faction, the High Eternal Osiris.

The Heliopolitan Eternals are the Eternals who once resided in and were viewed as gods in ancient Africa, the Middle East & Asia and includes an equal number of both Eternals & Deviant/Eternal hybrids within their ranks. Like the rest of the Eternals except for those that belonged to the Zuras lead faction, the Heliopoltian Eternals left Earth to allow the normal population of humanity to determine its own fate choosing to journey out into deep space of the Milky Way Galaxy and re-establishing their home of Heliopolis on an Earth like planet devoid of any human civilization that can be interfered with.

Centuries ago on Earth Seth gained the reputation as a “god of evil and destruction” due to his despicable act of attempting to murder his brother Osiris, an act committed out of jealously because Osiris rather than he, was chosen to succeed their father Ra as head of the Heliopolitan Eternals and has continued on a path of evil ever since. Since the Heliopolitan Eternals departure of Earth, Seth has established himself as a god and ruler on several worlds with pre-industrial civilizations in order to feed his lust for power and has received ongoing opposition from his brother and other members of the ruling family of the Heliopolitan faction because of this.

Seth has taken an interest in trying to re-establish himself as a god on Earth due to discovering the existence of various small extremist cults still dedicated to the worship of him in the modern era. It is his involvement with these cults on Earth as well as his attempts to invade Asgard and other realms to increase his power that have put him at a odds with Thor and the Asgardians.

Seth is a highly skilled hand to hand fighter as well as proficient in the use of all forms of combat weapons, powerful wielder of necromantic mystical energies and possesses the ability to transform himself into a monstrous serpent aspect form.
