This is perhaps the messiest project I've taken in quite a long time. I just got PaintTool SAI, and I haven't gotten the hang of it. From what I can tell, SAI seems to focus more on layer masks, while Photoshop focuses more on vector paths and the layer functionality in general. I used Photoshop and SAI together on this project (kept switching between Photoshop and SAI).I have yet to name my ponysona...
He gets a new manestyle, cutie mark!

The shading is better and more natural looking. But everything else looks off.

-And the "stylistic outline" is something that I substituted after noticing that a few artists leave light, messy, pencil traces on their finished products. I figured it gave the picture a nice little feel, so I figure, why not?

I'll explain since that wasn't really clear. The cutiemark change doesn't seem canonical at all and I wouldn't exactly find it "cute" even though it is a "cutiemark". Also, are you sure the iris is yellow? It throws off the color scheme (imo). The one that's your avatar managed to match the other colors. And by "off" I meant a little anatomically off. (Well, actually, at the time of writing that, I couldn't pinpoint exactly what I thought was off. I just thought the anatomy might be it. Thus the last question in the parenthesis.) From the position, the back leg of the OCs right side seems too short or placed too far behind. I don't know how to fix it. The tail doesn't seem to be in 3/4th view (Is this 3/4th view? Correct me if I'm wrong...) and just looks 2D. (or whatever it's called) Wouldn't it be a little more in between the hind legs? Hmmm. There may be more I'm that I feel is "off" but I don't know how to describe it...and really, it could just be me being subjective (or ignorant...) so I'm not going to write those down.

Well, of course the cutie mark isn't "cute." I told you it was a bit creepy. And no, the iris is actually yellow-orange. It's a cutie mark. It's a symbol. What does a color found in a symbol contribute to the overall color scheme of a character? Yes, I know the leg looks a bit off. But I looked at it, and I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be like that. It is the 3Q view. And the tail is pretty much in 3Q. Well, of course it looks 2D. It's a PICTURE, not a SCULPTURE. No idea what you mean by a little more in between the hind legs. Any more questions/concerns?
