Hi, sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on for a while.
The fade to black affect can be achieved in many ways, I believe I used a circular black to transparent gradient and then lowering the opacity.

Ah nice. I do like this version a bit more then I liked the blue. Just seems to work quite nicely with the red.
