Here's a little something for all the time I need to make up
I made this last semester for my 3-D class. Project: modular. We had a choice of what the sculpture could actualy be, so I thought it would be cool to make a phoenix entirely out of matches! Pretty cool, eh?
Time taken: just about 7hr. using a hot glue gun.
Match count
???? definately over 1000. I took a million and one pictures of it because I was going to burn it. Yes. BURN IT! But too many people begged me not to, so I'm making a duplicate to burn. This was the best slide taken, since we're doing another project for Foundations class with our portfolio. XD
Easy come easy go.

I got on today and suddenly saw I have so many new favs and messages on this and kinda stopped breathing for a sec... and OH MY GOD, I got a DD!!! I don't know if I should cry or dance!! 8D ....actually... I'm doing both right now XDD;

BURN IT!!!!!! It was your original intent, correct? Just make sure you document the event, after all, another piece could rise out of the ashes of this one, say video art? animation? time based? I tried to hang on to my 3d pieces, but trust me they just dont last, they arent really meant to. Have some fun with it, but by all means document document document.

This is incredible- I'm surprised I've never seen it before (although it was DD'ed during a year I wasn't particularly active). I particularly love the spread of the wings and the sweep of the tail at the base. Considering it's made of matches and hot glue, I imagine the actual sculpture is rather fragile. Do you still have it?
