Description A whole quarter's work and many sleepless nights (I'm a slow sculptor and it didn't help that it was done PIECE BY PIECE :>> ) is represented in this thing, but it was soo worth it. I can't believe how much of the human body I've learned through this (makes watching Bones and House all the more fun XD), but just don't ask me the individual body parts ^^:

I plan on making a polymer clay skeleton figure myself one day. Your piece serves as my inspiration! Beautiful work

What type of sculpey was that?)

Thanks~! <3

It's called Super Sculpey. If I remember correctly, the regular one is white, while this one is pinkish in color.

VERY impressive that this was done piece by piece. So, how did you attach everything?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EvilLunatic In reply to SugartheBat2 [2011-01-22 17:26:37 +0000 UTC]

With vaseline. Surprisingly it acts like a glue with unbaked sculpey.

Vaseline... I must try that.
Very impressive, even more so for a first go.
I really like his left foot and hand, and all the detail in the skeleton. And everything else

SugartheBat2 In reply to EvilLunatic [2011-01-22 17:52:52 +0000 UTC]

So did you end up baking it with the vaseline on it? o_o I'll have to try this...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EvilLunatic In reply to SugartheBat2 [2011-01-23 20:31:20 +0000 UTC]

Yup. The vaseline pretty much dries out the next day or even the next few hrs since it gets absorbed by the clay. Just be careful not to over do it, otherwise you'll get an unworkable mush.

3 reasons why you win the internet:

1. you did it piece by piece and LEARNED!
2. YOU DID AN EPICLY AMAZING JOB ON YOUR FIST TRY!
3. You mentioned House, and I love House... a lot. *stalkes Hugh Lauri*

Honestly though, very cool! I would say it was VERY worth the time and effort!

what materials did you use? :]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EvilLunatic In reply to Kokoro-no-sekirei [2008-06-07 17:26:00 +0000 UTC]

Everything is hand-molded sculpey except for the wire frame underneath it. The only other thing that I used as much as the clay was vaseline. For some reason it acts like a glue and makes the stuff stick to the frame. O_o
