Okay, so this is a bit late, but I just finally got my old stuff onto my computer (it was too big to scan in). I did this a little over a year ago, and it is one of my favorites. This piece is probably the point where I started to change the way I drew, and is definately the one to give me the ego I have today. As should be a given, Godzilla, nor any of the others portrayed in this image, is not my character, and I in no way own him. The artwork, however, is all mine. I'm not sure how long this piece took in its entirety, but it was more than a full days work. (The mouth took 13 hours for all the coats). This is done in acrylic paint, with Gesso layers beneath to create the texture.Related content

either way, lover, you know that i ADORE this painting. even more than adoring this painting, i loved your rough draft... me and you in the middle of mothra and golly-zilla attacking! HELL YEAH! wasnt i doing the "erica is the greatest attack" attack?

It has. I didn't realize just how long it's been until Erica's birthday just passed. I didn't really know you guys until her birthday. I haven't talked to you in forever. chances are I will IM you sometime. I just feel bad for bugging you. Anyway, it's awesome seeing your work. Especially this piece. When i saw it it was mostly white. You had it on the table, and I just thought "wow, that's so awesome. I wonder how it will all look when it's done." Of course, it's awesome. Just like I figured it would be.

Godzilla and Mothra! (Wait... is there a character below the giant moth? I'm not sure I recognize him...)
I always had trouble with acrylic (I'm impatient...) and I've never used Gesso (though people always mention it...)

Yes, the third one down there is Battra, he sorta blended with the background because I ran out of time. I really regret that, but if I had spent as much time on the rest of the painting, I would have gotten a zero. Other than that, I love acrylic, it's one of my favorite mediums, and the gesso was a lot of fun to mix with it.
