I don't think I really paid attention to it before, but... Scourge is blue on the inside... Interesting. If I recall, he WAS originally blue but something (maybe Anarchy Beryl related?) turned him green... Cool nonetheless.

Basically, Scourge had attempted to imbibe and harness the power of Mobius Prime's Master Emerald and undergo a super transformation only to be violently interrupted in the middle of the whole process. Consequently, the power of the emerald had mutated him, enhancing his physical prowess as well as giving him a new look.
I actually was very pleasantly surprised seeing GOTF!Scourge actually being blue underneath; it felt like a symbolic way of saying that Scourge was, is, and will always be Sonic the Hedgehog (or more specifically, Sonic #372)— something that will always be a part of who he is whether or not he changes names or looks. He's ultimately a Sonic who wound up growing up under circumstances that lead to his development of cruel behavior, arguably self-destructive tendencies and making a whole lot of bad choices. It's a major reason why I love his character.

I have a strong feeling that it is the Second Devourer. Judging by the area, the power, roar, and the fear in scourges face. Plus I feel
He's the only thing that could do something like that to a spirit. Buuuuuuuut I'm really hoping it's an evil version of Shadow. He's the only other character that could put the fear of God in another lifeform.
Like staring in the face of hell...oh my gosh I think I would piss myself! Ohoh or mephiles!!! He is capable of such heinous acts and it would be the PERFECT fight between him and Shadow. So much history, hate, anguish, shadow would lose control of himself, jeprodize everything because of his temper...but if it's The Second Devourer, it'd be the perfect fight for silver. Plus it ties in with universes and makes a lot of since. Would tie things up perfectly.

Is the blue stuff like ghost blood? Because we've seen it on Sonic, and I'm not sure what to make of it

From what I can tell, any sort of goopy-ness coming from a ghost is an indication of damage, or loss of focus and literally coming apart (like when Sonic got goopy when he was freaking out in the water a few pages back). Usually it matches the color of the ghost, but perhaps Scourge's is blue cuz he's an evil version of Sonic.

Yeah, thats probably it......... So why does Scourge have a regular form and a skeleton form? Cuz apparently the Goop stuff reverts him back to his normal self

Well, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say since sonic was given his ghost form as a sort of gift so he may stay in the physical plane and protect the world, Scourge was cursed with his form, and the skeletal form is a weakened version of it, so he can't cause much trouble. Thus he uses the Anarchy Baryl to power up and look like a normal green ghost. The goop itself doesn't revert him to normal, but it is a sign he is due to damage or stress, much like blood and sweat are signs for living beings.

Hmmmmm... I'm liking the Second Devourer theory. It would certainly tie the two universes together nicely, as Scourge's presence has done, and makes sense with the fact that Evan created that character. I'm so excited!!!

Hm. Whatever this boss is, it is strong enough to seemingly strip Scourge back to his Anti Sonic roots. The RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR has a purple glow, and the shadowy hands have claws. So shadowy, purple, clawed, and very powerful.

Too many people are suggesting Mephiles, so I'm going against the flow and debating some other character we know but wouldn't expect. Probably Fleetway........ I'll go for Tekno. Evil canaries are seriously freaky.
