I love how you are able to create something so compelling from just as simple a notion as "wanting to create something dreamy," and not needing anything deeper than that. I always pressure myself to have many layers of deep, intentional, significance with my work, which bogs me down. I hope I could someday be able to just create beauty for beauty's sake like you do. What's great about even a piece like this, is that, though it may not have a whole lot of significance or messages packed into it intentionally, the observer is still drawn to extract things from it. It really entices the imagination.

I really love the effect here of the glow she has.

Often my pieces start with nothing more than a simple idea or a whimsical sketch. I don't like to be loaded with too many ideas at the beginning or I feel like my painting becomes forced. Normally the piece changes so many times as I come up with new meanings, but what I love about painting is the journey and experimentation And as you said, it's always interesting to see others' interpretations. It's great to just doodle straight from your imagination without over-thinking, I'd encourage it!
