Fehling's Test is a test to detect alipathic aldehydes. The result is a change of color form dark blue to olive green and finally to brick-red colour of the cuprous oxide precipitate...

we just did that like 2 days ago for our lab class

nice work!

Thats weird, it are exactly the collors of the Dutch flag, red, white, blue. It's a beautifull picture.

May I use your photo for a website? It's [link] and then click on "Fachschaft". We are the chemistry-students of Hochschule Darmstadt.

Very, very beautiful. I love the way the colors separated out. Would you mind if I used this as the cover image of my science report? It wouldn't be published or anything. I would give you credit in the bibliography and such. Anyway, great image, and thanks for your time.

Okay. Thank you. I have given you credit in the bibliography. Thank you so much for taking this picture. Is this experiment something I can do at home, or does it require special chemicals?

it does require special chemicals.... but it is a standard experiment to test whether you have an aldehyd-group ([link] )

your school should have all the chemicals you need

ugh =___= the bastards in my group took off the "by erkeya" and put their own title TT-TT

i'm very sorry about that.

it's going to be very hard to find the pic because i think you're in the chem section.

u must have been mixed Cu(2) sulfate solution, potassium tartrate and sodium hydroxide. fehling test is done in order to determine the presence of reducing sugars. u'd better know what is done for what in lessons. so nice shot by the way.

After having seen this picture, there's the proof: science is beautiful!.
The blue reflections of the glass contribute nicely to the kind of "rainbowy" colors of he Fehling reagens.
Great pic.

how unusual, the way the colors separated in this.
i think i understand what you're saying there, or, at least, i'm reminded of something i've found for myself. every day i take a picture is a day that, for me, is kept alive. I can look at any of the thousand or so picture's ive taken over the years and remember exactly the time and circumstance under which it was taken. any picture i take, of Anything, documents that period of my life in an easily accessible format.

thats what i like about taking pictures.
interesting photograph, nice gallery!

thank you alot! ^^
