Description
The Waldgænger Vendel Age Flag, showing a 'Tierwirbel' motif from Gotland (6th Century). While the banner's shape is that of the typical Viking flags, modeled after the weather vanes used on their ships, the motif here is pre-Viking. The Vendel Era (Merovingian Era for Germany, France, and bordering countries, is known as the Scandinavian 'Golden Age', the time of BEOWULF and rich kingly burials in Sweden.
This is the reverse side of Waldgaenger Viking Flag , making a display of two different eras in history, respectively.
Made from wool and linen, all plant-coloured, sewn, and stitched by me.
