Yeah. That title would never work in the Mushroom Kingdom since the hills really do have eyes(among other things).....No, I haven't seen it, and I don't intend to. I think horror movies suck.

I think it got out of hand in Double Dash, where everything had eyes, and even noses and mouths!
I'm glad they went for a slightly more realistic route in the games afterward.

Ugh, be glad you didn't see it. It's really rare for a decent horror to come out these days, it's all been done. Nothing but blood and shock value and your typical "idiots who give me nothing to care about when they die". The best actor in the whole thing was a dog.
Also, the eyes in Mario are kind of strange. Just reinforces my "they were on drugs when they came up with it" theory.

Heh, kinda copying and pasting my answer here for anybody who might have asked this question. *ahem* Anywho...
The reason that everything has eyes isn't really a drug induced idea. Although they changed the story in later games, in the very first Super Mario Bros., the reason everything has eyes is because they were Toads that Bowser transformed using black magic. Supposedly, the spell would be broken by Princess Peach once she was rescued. This is also the reason that question blocks (and certain brick blocks) have coins and items. They're Toads trying to help Mario on his quest.
Like I said, the story was changed later, which is why those elements are still around, so if we're going by anything after that first game, then there really is no reason for everything to have eyes.
