Doubt I could really get past how mary sue he seems in just this one picture but your lighting is pretty good. The text at the top seems out of place as well.

I don't really want to meddle in this business, but I must say. I've seen this character on many occasions and he is far from Mary Sue or Gary Stu - whichever you prefer. Have you seen others' OC's? There are a lot of great ones but also a lot of horrible ones. In my opinion, this is one of the best.

Though to be fair I don't see a need to label every creative character '' Mary-Sue''
specially when those people don't know the story behind the character let alone what dimension he is a part of

I think one should hold off on calling a character a Mary-sure till after they have either read or heard about the story
and dimension the character is fromΒ
