who is azure and what is his origin (is he an OC to something?). oh and i almost forgot... Why is he with Luna?

You mean art made by different artists right? Well I commission them, win them as prizes or get them as part of trades. That is unless I draw them myself. I wouldn't say that makes it popular, I mean I know only a few that have told me they like the ship. The fanfic I wrote hasn't even gotten to Azure's training. All it's done is set up his birth, his father saying he can train to be a Night and the backstory of why the Nights were exiled. Haven't even gotten past his.....8th birthday I think in it, let alone him being in equestria and meeting Luna.

Nope. I mean I do have a couple images of them as foals together but those were more for fun and the d'aaaws. Relatively speaking Azure doesn't meet her until he's in his early to mid 30's.Β
As for their ship, I've more or less been treating it as a spin off from the canon. At least for now. There is a separate canon version that doesn't have them in a relationship because I don't want to mess with the show's canon. So where he is in love with her, for the most part she doesn't quite share his feelings (it's only after Tirek attacks that there's some potential that she may have developed feelings between then and when they met but as of right now that's where it splits off).Β
Azure's too cliche already, I didn't want to add another by having them be childhood friends turned to lovers. No one would let me get away with that XD. Hell some have issue letting me get away with what I've already done.

You have no idea XD. The fandom is funny like that. Canon x OC ships are more frowned upon than canon x canon, even if they're cracked ships. Sometimes even crossover ships don't go well. And it's especially frowned upon when it involves Luna. Most will look past a Mane 6 member shipped with an OC, even a number of Background ponies. But you put an oc with Luna and that tends to get a lot more jimmies rustled. Kinda funny really.

yeah lol. well some love her so much that they believe she is, well... too good for them or anyone else, therefore they get mad because if you put an OC with her they will think your OC is not worthy or whatever and they get mad lol. i love luna but im not mad, im just surprised

Well..........Yes and no. They are lovers but as of now only as a spin-off sort of thing. Kinda like with the comics. They're not canon and are technically a spin-off series. The split off happened at the Canterlot Wedding for the comics. But for me where Azure and Luna become lovers it'd be after the Season 4 Finale.

I sort of have but mostly the greater details. I kinda like to get into the minute ones as well. Only real thing I'm struggling with is deciding how Azure dies. I dunno if it will be due to old age or fighting. Not sure yet.

Of course he would XD. Though it'd have to be more in his old age. He's still kicking flank but not as well as he used to. And probably he'd wind up dying from his injuries too. Defending Luna and their daughter Seline, getting wounded but still fulfilling his duty, not as a royal guard, but as a husband and father. And he's able to see his family one last time before passing on and seeing his ancestors whom in good company he will have no shame.

i thought you said luna shared no feelings for azure night. lol and btw seline is a good name; does that relate to selena/selene? PS: selene is the greek moon goddess. also i want to advice you not to create your OC too powerful, oh and if he has a special power/talent try to explain it with a little science or magic. involve with equestria's past and make your canon sound legit. it would make a great story to read

Well, that's not to say she doesn't like him as a good friend in the canon version of his story, it's just not quite to the "I'm in love" bit. It could turn that way as far as the story is now, but as the canon goes it just hasn't been pushed that little bit yet.
And yes, that was the idea XD. Especially since that was originally going to be Luna's name.
I wouldn't say he's too OP. I mean I doubt I've explained him in enough detail to you but he's not disgustingly overpowered like a lot of OC's I've seen. I mean for one, he's a unicorn but his magic sucks. He fights more like an earth pony, using his body and is more likely to use his swords with his mouth. I mean the only thing that really would make him seem OP is that he's got an insane will and determination. That's about all that keeps him standing.Β
I've put a LOT of thought into his backstory and everything, not exactly something I can explain simply or in few words.Β

what is azure nights "life goal/biggest goal"? is his goal to defeat a enemy which caused trouble to him earlier, or is it just to capture luna's heart?

Neither really. It's more to restore his herd's lost honor. The simplest way I can explain it is thus. The Nights were the native ponies of Equestria before it was founded, more specifically they were residents of the Everfree Forest. They're early relationship with the new Equestrians was rocky at first but they gained respect for their capabilities as mercenaries (since Equestria didn't have a military or guard yet). They were drawn to Luna after she and her sister defeated Discord and although she rebuked their offer of being her personal guard (since the royal sisters saw no need for guards at the time) they still pledged their allegiance to her. But when she became Nightmare Moon and was banished within the moon, the Nights were enraged and revolted. They sought to avenge her but were betrayed from within and exiled. The honor and respect they once had was gone because of this, and 1,000 years later, Azure's the only one left in this long line of warrior ponies. He returned to Equestria with the sole purpose of restoring that lost honor and ensuring that his ancestors can rest in peace.
Cliche' I know but it's not quite so personal as defeating a rival or winning Luna's heart. He's not quite that selfish.

His goal was sort of achieved when he proved his valor when the Changelings invaded. But as a Night he is still sworn to protect Luna as well as live with honor and die with honor.Β
He's the only one left because they were wiped out by a massive pack of Timber Wolves. That night was unlike any other. The Nights had fought off Timber Wolves before but something was different. There were more than usual and even the wood within their compound, be it for building, firewood or even parts of their homes themselves came to life. They were caught completely unawares. They didn't go down without a fight though. Azure was tasked by his father to keep his sister safe but there were too many and one took him over a cliff. When he came to and limped back to the compound he found them all dead and dying.Β
He was lonely for a while but upon meeting Luna as well as those who'd later form his team (Moonshine the Zebra, Crater the dragon and Nightengale the Griffin) he doesn't feel lonely anymore. To him, they're more than friends, they're family to him. He's got many things he wants to protect now and he's come to call Equestria "Home" so where he sounds like he should be that silent brooding type, he's not always. He's stern sure, but mostly cause of his upbringing. He does get a little sad when he thinks about what happened and those he's lost, but he's happier now than he's ever been (even in my canon version where him and Luna are not together as a couple).
