I'm going to get this out of the way first: from an animation point of view, it's terrible. It's not animation.
On the other hand, it's amazing. It's a striking scene and the motion reminds you of those simple shadow plays where drawings and figures on sticks are moved around to convey simple motion. While certainly simple, the true power is its simplicity.
Not to mention the art itself is rather good, which helps a lot. It really shows how to use your strengths to accomplish something that you can't actually do to well by taking inventory of what you DO have and use it in a creative way to give it that shine.
All in all? It's an inspiring work. While its bad animation, it feels original, it has a sense of self, the art is great and it does what it needs to. And I really like shadow puppetry, so I might be biased to still images moving on sticks.
