Description An arrow of freedom
Is piercing my heart
Breaking chains of emotion
Given a moment to pray
Lost innocence to find its way

Feelings of sensation
A cry in the dark
Hope is on the horizon
With a reason to stay
And living for a brand new day

In morning dew,
a glorious scene came through,
like war is over now
I feel I'm coming home again

The moments unfold
In the meaning of love
This war is over now
I feel I'm coming home again

Sarah Brightman - The war is over

I wanted to finish this picture before my work starts again on Monday, so I will be busy again.
I'm aware of the fact that it is full of errors, but please, don't point them out, I know them already. I have spent some hours on fixing them and I'm not able to do it and I don't want to hear or think about them any more xp. I have almost threw it out, but then coloured it though for my friends Nivak and maudt who wanted to see it finished. Thank you girls for help and listening to my whining

Hope you will enjoy the colouring at least^^

oh.... a softly smiling Faramir... he's more like what I saw in my mind reading Tolkien for the first time like thirty years ago. Β
Eowyn does not really fit the bill for meΒ , but the great Professor never described her as extensively as he did othersΒ ....
Still, it's a beautifull picture.Β

This is beautiful! If there are mistakes that lovely coloring and the melting into the background fixed them certainly. The couple looks beautiful, and very much as I envisioned them. Eowyn looks weary, still haunted by her old demons, but Faramir looks totally healed and ready to chase them away. Β

As far as I know and the books say, Faramir was no Elf, but a human being (even if descendant from the old race of Numenore), but well...

Oh it was Faramir!!! How stupid of me. He looks so noble and elven nonetheless.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Paul774 In reply to ellaine [2013-01-28 21:28:29 +0000 UTC]

You're right, he's a human, but also a little bit elvish

ImrazΓ΄r the NΓΊmenΓ³rean and the Elven-lady Mithrellas, one of Nimrodel's Silvan companions, married and founded the line of the Princes of Dol Amroth around the year 2000 (3rd Age).

Finuilas, the mother of Faramir and Boromir was from this line. ALso Morwen of Lossarnach, mother of Theoden of rohan, was from the line of Mithrellas of LΓ³rien. So Eowyn and Eomer also had a little bit of elvish ancestry.

In the Lord of the Rings, Imrahil of Dol Amroth is fighting in the ring wars (he's the brother of Finduilas, uncle of Faramir), his elvish ancestry is recognized and mentioned by Legolas.

This is much more what I envisioned Faramir to look- dark hair and shaven face. Eowyn is beautiful here, too Wonderfully drawn, you have such a skill!! <3
It's such a shame that they had so little screen time together in the film, whereas the book goes into a lot of detail about their love for each other, from the healing house onwards...

so I guess people *do* read the books still XD

well, whatever the flaws may be, I haven't spotted them <3

ellaine In reply to PippinIncarnate [2007-10-17 20:31:13 +0000 UTC]

Yes, they do, they do!
Faramir's black-haired-ness is one of the things why I love him, Nothing against David Wenham, but I prefer the original (I bed Peter Jackson thought, people would be confused by Aragorn, Boromir and Faramir looking too similar).

You know, when I look at it now, I see less flaws than before O.o

Thank you
