Notable Features: Large Ears - Fangs - Orange Eyes - Tiny Paws - Thin fur

Brief Description: Warm yet deep grey tones flow along Bat's body. His backside is most definitely on the darker end while heading more towards his underbelly, he's lighter- both in color and in fur. His fur is extremely thin, and in some places, it is easy to see his skin underneath, leaving him susceptible to the cold and causing him to get sick more often than others, though it doesn't bother him very much. The most notable features about Bat are his large ears and long canines. He definitely lives up to his name. To contrast against the grayer tones of his fur, his eyes are a brilliant shade of orange, like a sunset. He has a couple scars, and a rather tiny build. His tail is skinny, and he has small paws. His nose and pads are a soft shade of pink.

Bat is certainly a rather odd individual. The first impression you'll most likely get of this guy is that he's creepy, weird. Someone's first thought may be to stay away from Bat, which may be a good idea. However, Bat may find some way to come to you- whether you avoid him or not. He's a curious cat who loves to socialize, talking with anyone he sees, observing them, and engaging in social activities. He's cheerful and happy, always wearing a smile on his face. And if he sees you- most likely, he's going to come right on up and talk to you. And if you make him your friend, you have a loyal pal by your side.

But don't be fooled by his kind nature. While he may come off as friendly and kind, beneath that exterior is a cat with selfish intentions. He cares mostly about research. He wants to find out how the world works, and what makes cats so... Interesting. He takes a curiosity in living beings, and has come to study different behaviors and reactions to several things. And because of this interest, he tends to be a bit intrusive, touchy-feely, and... Well, creepy. That creepy atmosphere wasn't something to shrug off, because he tends to take his "studies" a bit too far, even going as far as purposefully rile up others to get a reaction out of them. He pays extreme attention to every detail he can find, making sure that he's mentally cataloging everything he sees.

Bat doesn't seem to have a care in the world about how other cats feel, and if he ends up hurting someone or doing something somebody else doesn't like, he won't feel bad about it. He'll most likely not apologize, and can easily get on other cats' nerves... Especially given the fact that he does what he wants, when he wants, and usually does things without thinking them through. He'll run head first into something without looking, like for example; if he wanted to steal someone's mouse, he'd do it without thinking the situation through first.

As much as he doesn't necessarily care for politics or the fact that Halcyon is higher than the other clans, he'll take his position as a Halcyon and use it to his advantage to study his "specimens", as he likes to call other cats. If someone stands up to him, or tells him off, he won't hesitate to use violence to give them a fright or threaten them. He likes to conjure up lies to fool other cats, either to drag their name through the mud, or cause them to react in a certain way. He can fake emotions and create made up stories to get others to believe him. Overall, he's not a nice person- but he is a very smart, loyal, cunning partner if you were to befriend him.

History

Birch and Owl had been wanting kits of their own for a while now. kittens that they could call their own. And when the time came around where Birch had become pregnant, the two were thrilled to start their family together.
And of course, soon enough, Birch had given birth. Three little kittens curled up next to her belly, whom the queen had respectfully named Rook, Thorn, and Bat. Bat was the smallest of the litter, with a scrawny build and tendency to get sick. But either way, his mother didn't love him any less- she cared for all three of her kits equally. The three were raised to take pride in their positions as Halcyon cats, that they were the most important cats in the lands, and that the other clans were below them. She often taught the three to be wary around clan cats, avoid them even.
But Bat didn't want to avoid them. He wanted to learn more.
Throughout his kithood, he would get ill, and would have to be taken to the Ela to be healed.
When he became an apprentice, he became a watcher, while his other two siblings became teachers. He was taken around the different territories and he had stuck around the clans, observing the other cats with curiosity and intrigue. How they carried on their duties. How they feared the Halcyon cats. How he would pick up small whispers between them about rising up to the Halcyon and breaking free of their reign. Bat was unsure as to why they reacted like that. He was unsure about how cats... Felt things.
And that was how he first became invested in the little sport of "experimenting". As he grew older and older, he began to grow more impulsive. More curious. More hungry for knowledge.
Or, perhaps, he craved entertainment?
Then came the executions. The leaders of the clans were killed in a single night. Bat was absolutely interested in the reactions of the clans the moment word got out of their demises, and, now being a full watcher, decided to carry on his duties to observe.
Several emotions, he could see. Shock. Grief. Anxiety, panic. Anger.
All such strong emotions.
All emotions he craved to see more of. Cats were oh so interesting.

Excerpt taken from Rogue Plague with my character Kedric

It was a very nice day out. Beautiful on the eyes, comfortable temperature, a wonderful morning... Everything felt so peaceful. While on the outside, farther on the outskirts of pack territories and in the neutral lands, infecteds ran wild and savage, hungry to sink their teeth into the flesh of dogs that would serve to be easy food.

Kedric knew he ran the risk of getting tracked down by one and attacked each time he strayed into the neutral lands to take a breather, but he couldn't help but keep coming back. He observed a spider that sat comfortably in the center of its web, waiting patiently for another piece of prey to fall victim to the sticky trap it had spun. A small fly flew past the shiba's muzzle, flying just a tad too close to the web-close enough for it to be ensnared and caught. The spider scurried down the web to the fly, and quickly turned it over and over, tying it up to keep it still.

As he watched it happen, he made sure to focus on his hearing and smelling, keeping his guard out to prevent any risk of getting ambushed by an infected. He always wandered to the neutral lands to get away from the current events happening in Stonetower. Their leader was an unruly tyrant, their pack was succumbing to an illness, and to think that they'd stoop so low... Well, he couldn't blame them. He had to admit that even he himself had to eat as well, with prey being so scarce. It was hard finding anything else. Although Hapsephet was cruel and ruthless, he did understand that she wanted to make the pack better and stronger. And he had nothing to worry about. He was a Raider. Raiders were meant to be smart. He was smart and careful. He fit his role perfectly, and no way in hell would he step up against his leader unless he had to.

As his mind tossed and turned over the current events, one of his ears flicked as he heard a sound somewhere off behind him. He turned his head in the direction it came from and stood up quickly, looking around for the source. His eyes eventually rested on another dog, which caused the fur on his backside to rise in warning as a growl rumbled in his throat. Whoever the dog was, he just hoped the mutt wasn't infected. He wasn't in the mood to get in a fight with one of those creatures. Then again, he could always run away, but that ran the risk of leading the creature back to camp accidentally. Last time he ran into one, he was lucky enough the mutt wasn't still sane enough to have a conversation with before running off.

Kedric watched the dog, and he eventually noticed they lacked the signature blackened eyes, growing mushrooms, and tar leaking from their mouths and nostrils. He let the fur settle down along his back, but still glared suspiciously, not letting his guard down.
