The strong contrast could easily have killed the image, but the angle and point of view, that keep only the relevant details make a remarkable image.

This is so old, I think I was just out of college when I took it.... so dinosaurs were still roaming the earth. I never bothered printing it because the negative looked awful, I scanned it to see who was in the picture, I decided it was worth saving
Thanks DJ!

I wonder how many images of mine I could have overlooked that way... probably not so many

I hadn't looked at this for almost 20 years, I'd never bothered printing it because the negative looked so bloody awful. I hadn't planned on scanning it either, I couldn't make out who was in the picture so figured I'd have a look before putting it away again. It's a ghost, I remember the girl but can't remember her name. The sunlight streaming through the window was very strong, I think I'd probably taken a light reading from her hair then clicked as she turned her face towards the camera. I decided it might be worth saving... after half a lifetime in the attic

Would be delighted to hear that no photoshop was harmed in the making of this stunning portrait

I added a fuzzy black frame and removed a couple of minor dust spots The reason for the border was to avoid doing a major photoshop job on the right side of the picture...a stray piece of someone else's sleeve.

Thanks
