Description Here's the walk cycle that I did at Disney. I figured Bolt's been out long enough for it to be ok for me to post this.

Could you leave the Bolt model link please? It is that everything I seek is not very identical. PS: good animation

Hey,
Sorry, I can't post the Bolt model for two reasons. One is because that would be illegal, since it's property of the Walt Disney Company, and the second reason is that I don't even have it. I did the Bolt walk cycle when I was an intern at Disney.

Ohh, good no matter. Thank you very much same! A question, I want to work on this when school is out Do they pay well? Is it true that you put a group of entertainers or individually? Only those two questions, thanks

You did a great job involving the whole body in the movement (loking at the animation) (sorry for me keeping commenting on this image I hope I am not bothering you)

I watched the movie Bolt and I want to tell someone that worked on the project how great of a job they did. I have been working on trying to get into 3D animating and it is a challenging experience, but one that I love. I have not created a fully formed and finished animation but I have created a scene or two with lots of effort. Great job and I did not even know you can post a video to DA. I am faving this because it is awesome and I am going to give you a watch. hope that you can create something in your spare time. Even if it is a one off short.

Thank you. I didn't get to work on Bolt, sadly. I was there as an intern when Bolt was in production and interns aren't allowed to do production work. I was just able to do animation tests using the rigs.Β

Could you make a small animation of Tangled and Bolt together PLEASE????
You're so luck to know how to do Disney 3D animation, I wished I could learn how ):

elipse In reply to AngelAnnaleah [2014-06-22 20:34:24 +0000 UTC]

I wish I could! I'm not at Disney anymore though and no longer have access to their rigs. You can learn to be an animator too. It's not impossible. ^_^ Check out books like The Animators Survival Kit, Animation Crash Course, Acting for Animators, etc. There are also plenty of online schools with great programs that are much cheaper than brick and mortar schools (Animation Mentor, iAnimate, AnimSchool, and AnimSquad).

Just watched the film again. I try to look for you in film credits. Do you use your real name or a nickname?

elipse In reply to matt-bulls-stories [2014-03-21 01:47:03 +0000 UTC]

Hey,
You won't find my name in the credits for Bolt because I didn't work on it. I was there as an intern and the Animation Guild forbids Disney from having interns do production work. I was allowed to do tests with the rig, but nothing for the film itself. Thanks for looking though!

matt-bulls-stories In reply to elipse [2014-03-22 22:15:28 +0000 UTC]

Ok, great you got to play with the rig.

I seem to think you did the part in Wreck it Ralph where he's walking down central station with a cherry. Think that's one of the scene setters for the film; like little details like that and believe its in one of your demo reals.

Maybe you should have an a achievement or worked on list; know I would be proud. Could be a good idea for a journal post. Really need to have some reflection on all i've done too.

PartyFrosting [2013-05-11 04:24:32 +0000 UTC]

Wait.... o.o Disney still does everything frame by frame? Wow I thought the stopped doing that a long time a go and moved to frames and bones. o.o That's cool.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

elipse In reply to PartyFrosting [2013-05-13 15:45:48 +0000 UTC]

Yes, all animation is done frame by frame. It isn't drawn anymore since 3d animation is done with puppets (which have bones) that exist in the computer. But all of the principles of traditional animation still apply and you're still working on a 24 frames per second basis.

thanks for telling me:3 I always wondered what they animated it in<3 do they 'animate' every single movement for the characters, or does the program animate something auto-matically?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

elipse In reply to Cynderthedragon5768 [2013-05-06 22:21:55 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome. We animate everything on a frame by frame basis. There isn't anything that's done automatically. The computer is a tool, just like a pencil. Neither can automatically do anything and require the artist to make it work. ^_^

Cynderthedragon5768 In reply to elipse [2013-05-09 02:04:07 +0000 UTC]

makes me wonder if the same animators who animate Ice age use the same program o.o wish I knew.xD

elipse In reply to Cynderthedragon5768 [2013-05-13 15:42:46 +0000 UTC]

They do. I worked on Ice Age 4. A lot of the film and vfx studios use maya in combination with their own proprietary tools.
