Description Another update on Dougie for my 3D short. Have gotten a lot of errors fixed with the bone structure and such. He's starting to deform pretty good when animated. Next step (hopefully!): Preliminary texturing! Yay!

Thankew, thankew, much appreciated. I used 3D Sudio MAX 5.1 and Character Studio 4 for this. I modelled him with patches...one of my first with patches, actually...which is quite easy to see when you have the character on the screen...he's just chock-full of errors. But I'm working on it. Textures are on the way, I've actually just now uploaded the first pass on them!

heh nice work the pose is pretty cool, I agree with raven8t8 here the left paw is a tad flat. Good stuff nevertheless!

Only thing i can see that might want to be fixed is the fact his left paw looks a little flat here... could just be me though

Naw, it's not just you...it is a little wonky when the paw bends like that. Trying to fix it. Heh.

Floppy wrinkley goodness! I love the paws. ::Wants to squish 'em::
Good luck on the texturing. Finding good preexisting textures can sometimes be a pain in the hoo-hah, but there are some websites that will offer those, as well as sound effects if you intend to include those in the animation. Or, Photoshop your own ^_^;. If you're using Maya, there is also an option that allows you to paint directly on the model (I haven't used it, nor do I know how.. so if that is the route you choose, good luck to you, and lemme know how it works out ^_^)
Good luck! I want a movie of it when it's finished!

BluntieDK In reply to lessis [2003-09-23 07:43:59 +0000 UTC]

I usually hand paint my textures. I try to refrain from using photos as much as possible, but I'll probably use some kind of picture of fur for this guy. And oh, Photoshop all the way!

Hey, very clean model/render you've got going on there...

Neat character design :-D
Odd though, his back left leg looks like it extends down from his "chest" though..am I just seeing things..?

I like it though, particularly the paws.
