I love the color in this. Simply amazing...the reflection off the bottle is amazing as well. Kudos, sir...and envy.

I like to play with DOF, although I still haven't much (no photos submitted yet, sorry).
I find this one beutiful and the title suits it like a glove (although it changes one's first perception of it), making it brilliant.
Oh, I found you through *gilad .

First, thank you for your .

Levels & Contrast only. Though, the levels made quite a difference... the colors are much stronger.

Nice to see you here

Thanks.

Sorry I didn't give much of comment here... the "hiccup!" was my first reaction upon seeing the title/photo.

I think the DOF works great here... I'm mean, not only is it effective at defining the bottle more, but it also lends atmosphere and context... especially near the top where the focus is the shallowest.

First, there is no need to be sorry, my friend.

I'm not very fond of shallow DOF... Most of my work is in large f-Numbers, they provide supirior image quality. Here, I had the 70-200L f4.0 which provides excellent quality even in open apertures and this is a great advantage Shallow DOF really is better for artists to "make their point".

Thank you so much for your detailed opinion

I know what you mean. I don't really have any nice glass at the moment so I also tend to stay around the "sweet spot" of the lens (f/8 or so for my only lens at the moment). I'm looking forward to getting a 80-200 2.8 Nikkor so I can play around with shallow DOF again... I loved my 50 1.8, but someone stole it a few years ago along with my camera when I was travelling to take a 6 month photography course.

Oh Loosing photography equipment is very unpleasent & expensive.

80-200 2.8 of nikkor is a powerful lens! Hopefully you'll get it soon

I'm thinking of "wide" equipment. There is the budget issue of course, but the 17-85 or 10-22 of Canon are my main interest for the future...

Still saving up for that lens... it's gonna be awhile before I can justify buying it...

Yeah, it'd be nice to have something that wide too...

First, thank you for your supportive opinion

As to the title - an empty bottle can be a symbol for many things.
Inside the water, like in tales, you can imagine it comes with a note...

It can also look like someone waking after drinking too much, and seeing this, wondering whether this is real or not. Once again, the idea for the title is not mine, but i liked it immediately

Imho, the title should add interest to the viewer - it doesn't have to be true to the scene, or to what you thought of it when you took it. I thought of the first idea, when taking it.... but the title has to do with the second version...
