As for this comic…

For those of you sceptical about the existence of a stroller that costs $1000, believe me, there’s a bunch of them.  And for those of you who doubt the fact that any human being in his or her right mind would ever pay that much money for a f#$%ing stroller, let me reassure you that people can get pissy and competitive about anything.

Oh, and for our non-Canadian readers, Canadian $100 bills are brown.  They have a picture of Robert Borden (prime minister 1911-1920) on them.  They’re also usually made of a weird, semi-transparent plastic material now.  It’s kind of strange and makes me long for the old-fashioned goodness of paper money.  And for those who are curious, no, ‘bringing home the Bordens’ is not something we say up here.

Though we probably should.

They're bad for baby wipes.  Don't hold enough moisture to be effective.

Puck should hold baby showers every weekend till that kid turns six! (and don't forget to invite some rich competitive blondes)

The rich blondes are key.  You can invite them to anything and they'll get competitive.

Just a stroller.  It doesn't drive itself either.

Nice! You have plastic money?! Crazy, but I guess it doesn't rip. I've seen strollers on sale for much more than 1k, but babies vomit all over the cheaper ones same as the expensive!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ElectricGecko In reply to Kloob [2015-01-14 03:00:20 +0000 UTC]

That's the problem, though: plastic money does rip.  In fact, once it rips a little, it just tears right in half.  Terrible design.  The advantage (theoretically) is that the bills last far longer than paper ones, which wear out after a year or so.   Oh well.  They'll come your way eventually.   I, for one, avoid money in general and live off debit.

As for expensive strollers, they're almost worth it if you do a lot of walking with your kid.  But the people who buy these things never actually use the strollers.  They're just for intimidation.

The money does rip!? Well I take it back then, there's no advantage to plastic money! I wonder why they haven't made it here yet?

Whatever you want to buy, the rich have a way more expensive version you can buy.  Everything to do with babies is especially prone to this.

I don't think the hundreds are brown so much as a golden sort of yellow, but maybe that's just me.

Anyway, I love how Miranda's just staring at the money in the last panel. It's like even she's saying "Woah, that's a nice fat wad of cash there!" She's really learning Puck's ways fast. Probably not a good thing. The world might explode with multiple Puck's in it.

ElectricGecko In reply to BrightAbysmal [2015-01-13 15:38:20 +0000 UTC]

Even babies love cash.  But yeah, golden yellow?  Maybe.  They've been upping the gold factor in more recent versions.  I still consider Maestro Fresh Wes to be the final word on the matter:
"When I'm at home I make bills of brown from my sound;
in the States, green like the grass In the ground.
When I'm in England, they pass me pounds now.
I clock cash in every town."
