This is very close to how I have come to think of these two in my mind.Aredhel is proud, beautiful,strong and a "free thinker"" out of the box for someone in her world both in the stories and in your version. And indeed he is too.But he could have gotten his girl to like him with less peculiar methods to put it mildly 😁!!
Though I guess then it wouldnt have been such an intriguing story. Nothing short of fantastic depiction of this odd pair!

Intense stuff going on in this image. Eol is among the least likable characters in The Silmarillion and you totally caught his grim nature here. Has a wealth of portent to it. Strong image.

I absolutely agree on this piece (and many other of yours) gorgeousness. Only one lesser detail, in my most humble opinion: that galvorn is way too blueish. Otherwise perfect! Faved by the way

Wow!! This is absolutely gorgeous!! I love how you've painted Eol's features: very dark, expressive and virile- perfect for his character. And Aredhel is beautiful- those flowing white robes are so realistic and a lovely contrast to the darker side of the painting.
The diagonals of the branches really add nicely to the tension of the piece, building on the already tense aura coming from Eol. And the way you've painted his armour is really magnificent. I love the design, and the shine on the metal of his armour and sword really fits well in his environment- not an easy thing to do. Also, the flowing, lightness of the hair of the elves and of the horse is perfect!
A beautiful piece! Well done!

Awesome! This horse looks like it is alive! I love this mossy forest, looks ancient and magical. Eol's armour is so well designed! You created an elven design that looks like a historical piece! It is very beliveable and solid. Armor is one of the most difficult things to draw and paint and you do it perfectly. Also this black maille! I cannot imagine how you managed to create the effect! this is so amazing!

I must admit that this work is so excellent that it can only make me wonder what your rendition of Maeglin would look like.
I would like to add that I admire the way in which you have made Eol a 'dark elf' indeed, making the difference between one of the Noldor and one of those that never saw the light of the Trees beautifully clear.

What I like about Eol is that like all elves he is handsome and yet still dark and grim.
And he seems dark even though he's not standing in shadows.
