Originally I wanted a maelstrom in the middle, but it's odd how few close-up stocks there are of whirlpools/whirlwinds.... Any stock photographers up for the challenge? The bigger, the better.
I've worked on and off on this for quite a while - I just never get happy. At some point I just decided to stop. *shrugs*
I am aware that mermaids traditionally don't wear tops, but I really liked the stocks, so... perhaps they're in the North Sea. Not very sensible flapping around in bikinis there.I give #Manipulators permission to repost this image.

I'd like to make a suggestion to you and other users. I would like see pics of mermaids caught in whirlpools. They can be screaming in fear or riding them for fun. I'd also like to suggest doing the same for women caught in tornadoes. This is not a request. I just wanted speak out loud.

i found myself staring at it for a few mins and just enjoying the work you put into this art and the fantastic outcome .
very good job , as though i can fill I'm down there in the deep blue see , feeling the little bubbles around , as the mermaids straggling slightly - swimming deeper .

ohh I love the atmosphere of this shot and the twirling motion of the figures. Perchance, would you happen to have the unedited stock images still? I just noticed that the model has deleted all of her work and I'd like to use them as artistic refs

No, I don't mind; I'm glad you gave the tut credit and that you learned stuff from it
One thing, though - you should put the proper credits in your Artists comment instead of directing to my tutorial, and send a note to the stock artists to say you've used their photos. Several of them, if not all, require it whenever you make use of their resources. Just because they like to see what people make of them
