surprising to see a moose in Yellowstone, how recent was this?

that shot was probably taken sometime around 1990 at pelican creek.
i usally go to jellystone about 4 to 5 times a year. once in the spring a couple of summer trips then one or two times during the rut in the fall. i usally see moose every now and then, but usally see them down by the south entrance.
i have a great video of a nice bull walking thru the lodgepole by the lewis river.

for the past three years I have gone about ten times a year but have not seen any moose..plenty in grand Teton national park however. They say the fire burned there favorite food right out of the park.

it's been almost 20 years since the fires - i though willows was there favorite. most of the lodgepole is 6 to 10 feet high now. you'd think willows would grow alot faster and them being in wetlands the fire wounld't have that much of an effect on then.
but the fire did one thing give great views of grand prismatic pool at midway geyser basin. the hill to to sw of the pool has a great vantage point. a little steep climb, but well worth it - you have to go in the afternoon when the temps are much warmer so there's not that much steam.
