*HUGSSSSS* I feel just awful for Peanut right now and I'm sorry it's taken me too long to reply!! He is going to need alot of re-assurance that you are there for him. Give him some scritches for me.
That is very very true... Animals have feeling and emotions. Only people who are too blind cannot see it.
In the case of KoKo the signing gorilla.. she had a beloved pet cat named All Ball (she named the cat herself do to the kitten having no tail) She found out one day her cat was hit by a car. This was during the time a documentary was being taped. Her companion I forget the woman's name explained it to her and KoKo said she wanted to go have a rest... so she went into her den and the cameras caught the sounds of her sobs.
The case of Scarlett and her unfaltering drive to save her kittens during the fire.
Or of Ginny the dog who rescues abused and abandoned cats...
Or of the elephants who pay homage to their dead?

how does one cheer up a sad kitty?... what a face he's got on, but who can blame him. Is on top of the fridge his special spot?

it's funny how many higher mammals share the similar brain physiology -- by that I mean how we deal with loss -- mourning, sadness, adjustment, distraction, recovery.

Poor thing needs a hug. I\'d hug him if I were there. Pets have feelings, and no one is going to convince me otherwise! Hugs for both mom and baby! xoxox

Demanding little thing, huh? Justin just expects me to pick him up, he's to polite to climb. He will pull me down towards him, if the mood hits him, though. And when a cat uses his claws to pull you down, you go down! That little butthead!

It\'s not hogwash!!!! It\'s been over 7 years since Spot died, and I think Neko still looks for her. She\'ll go to the hall closet where Spot liked to hide and look at the door to see if she\'s in there.

My Neko was pretty devilish in her youth. Age is catching up with her.... she's slowed waaaaaaay down!

Man. Look at that sweet little face. Poor Peanut I have had alot of situations like this (an animal dies and the other one is depressed), so many that I need all my fingers to count the times. The living animal will never be the same. It may look happier at times, but it will still never forget. It just breaks me and my family's heart.
I am dreading that day that either Bally or Chloe passes. They have been friends, no more then friends, sisters, for most of their life and this picture just makes me worry all the more. I never want my cats to die but when the day comes I'm hoping they will together, for their sake, not mine. I know it will be harder on me an my family, but I can't stand looking at animals like this. :*(
I teared up looking at this picture. So much emotion. I know that it probably doesn't matter, but this is definitely a (well, it does matter I just mean that your cat means more to you then a but.. oh you know what I mean )
Oh jeez this post is depressing

I believe animals have feelings too....like my dog rusty had to put down because of a stumic tumor and she was in lots of pain so, she was put down My cat smoky began to growdistant and didn't move much then one week from the day rusty died smoky passed away in his sleep. I miss them.

Awww! How sad! We're trying lots of different ways to get Peanut feeling better. Playing with him more, picking him up more often for cuddles, that sort of thing.

LOL! Really, our dogs are like that too. They're all full of heart and soul, and unconditional love...they amaze me, sometimes they show more feeling than humans do.

Oh, I completely agree. My dog wears her emotions right on her face. It's kind of weird, really. She's very human in many aspects.
