Oil on Canvas, 18 x 24 inches.My aim here was to create a colorful sunset that wasn't as bold and intense as some but rather more of a glow effect of soft yellow. I hope this painting to have that calming effect yet be somewhat inspiring to view.

Have you ever considered freelance illustration, for graphic novels or children's books? Also, you wouldn't happen to enjoy art-deco would you? I personally find a hint of the style in your art.

I have actually, I'm just not sure who to contact and how to get my foot in the door quite yet. I figured I would just go with the flow for now when it comes to art, but I have considered it

that's a reaaally nice artwork. Looks like a impressionistic stye ^-^
It has a calming effect! But for a sunset the colors are too yellow. I think they tend to be more warmer with red and orange. At this stage of the sunset everything should be more darker especially at the trees. And... I don't know but behind these trees... there is no shadow Oo
and the grass could have more darker places because the light of the sun can't reach every centimeter of the ground anymore...
apart from the crit I like it very much. Especially these clouds. they look so dreamy *-*

Thank you very much! And yeah, it was supposed to be somewhat pre sunset and not too intense, like right as the sun begins setting. That is why I did yellow and pink, to make it a calm sunset rather than a powerful one. And yeah, you caught the lack of shadows for those trees! I actually had sketched them in and forgot after painting...I had already taken the pictures and posted before noticing, and changed to, so I just left it to remind myself to not forget in the future, haha. Thanks for the critique, I'll try and keep those details in mind for sunsets of the future
