Thanks, i think i'm starting to get the hang of colour values and what nots, though right now i've been focusing solely on value and contrast, and ignoring picking the right colours, i'll work on that soon enough

That's great to know. I really need to work on colours because I never keep colour theory in mind so it lacks harmony and gets really saturated.

Well, you can just do gray scale since even your gray scale works are amazing!
also, it's easy for me since i do my work digitally where the colours are already there and i just need to experiment with it

Well, I was talking about my digital works in the earlier reply but whatever, lol. xD
So, what's new with you?

Wait- you do digital works!? I have to see them!
i've been fleshing out stories for my comic, doing sketches for the comics too, but admittedly most of my time during the last few days was devoted to playing 'don't starve', i suddenly got hooked again after not playing it for almost a year, so yeah, the last word i'd use to describe the last few days would be 'productive'

There are not many of them. I'm really slow and I drew them over an year ago. :/
I just looked up the video game and it looks cool.

That's ok, i'd like to see em
and yeah, the game is really great! Though once you've established a sustainable base it gets boring because it takes away the suspense of trying to stay alive

Err, maybe later?
I'm learning to draw body parts, but I get frustrated and baffled when they don't turn how I want them to... How do I deal with this? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ What do you do when you're learning something new?

dudewithaShotgun In reply to Airiadne [2016-05-11 13:27:55 +0000 UTC]

Do it a lot of time! usually i do a rough sketch first on how i want the pose to be, and then i do a cleaner sketch before doing linearts, that makes mistakes easier to fix! also, it helps to rotate and flip the image to spot the weird-ness that's usually unoticable because you're used to seeing the image so seeing it in a new perspective helps
Well, i'll be waiting then, i'm sure it'll be great

Thanks for the advice! I think I should ask a deviant to instruct/ criticise my drawing once a week or something? I don't really have anyone to help me irl.

Well, you could go ask in the forums, i'm sure a lot of people would gladly help you out, i've gotten a lot of help from there too myself

Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I could do that, but I don't know which forum to post it in. x3

The digital arts forums would be a good place, if you're going for traditional, i don't know for sure but i guess the general arts forum?
