I liked this immediately! I like your use of the circular border and your willingness to protrude from it. I like the adorable and thoughtful expression on the rabbit's face. I like the shawl that makes me think of The Secret Of Nimh (one of the best animated films ever). Your depiction of trees is clever and cute. I also really like how you've added depth of field by blurring the objects closer or further than the rabbit. To add greater depth, I'd recommend blurring the hills behind her even further, or adding details to them as visual cues of distance, like smaller trees or a path.
And yet I've got some questions. If these conical features beside her are trees, where is the leaf falling from? Even if they're just bushes, where is the tree that's big enough to have dropped the leaf? What is the purple thing behind her?
As for how to draw leaves, I think you did a pretty good maple leaf. I can give a pointer or two, though. First, leaves are flat, so don't shade it round like you did. To do a leaf that's curled up would be too detailed for this piece, but a folded leaf could be done. Just be sure the fold-line is clearly identified. Also, leaves have veins and stems. These two features do a lot to make a leaf look like a leaf.
I hope this was useful.

You're very welcome. Thank you for allowing me the chance to comment. Having received this additional information from you, I have some additional comments. I did think that the brown trunk-like-object behind her was a tree, at first. But when it protruded from the frame and stopped, I abandoned that idea. I think elements should either protrude entirely outside of a frame, or be entirely within the frame. To extend the tree partly and then cut it off without clear indication why (like a secondary frame) is confusing. Also, I suspected the "purple thing" was a tail, but didn't notice the second pair of eyes, so my observations were restricted to a paradigm of natural creatures.

Here´s my constructive comment:
First of all. I like the round shaped border of your drawing. And the depth of field is something i don´t see much on deviantart and makes it feel like a photograph. The title is applicable by the scene. my only disadvantage is the contrast between the colors what feels a bit pale.
As conclusion: this an simple yet charming illustration

Well, you couldn't have picked a more fitting title, because you've captured that mood perfectly. From the lighting to the softness of the art style to how the character's presented in it, it genuinely makes me want to jump straight into the scene. I'm pretty jealous, to be honest.
As for the storybook look you're trying to achieve, I think that depends on what you're trying to convey and which details you want to be in focus. You don't necessarily need to make the leaf more detailed if it looks out of place in the style.* If you're trying to take a cinematic approach to storytelling with this, try to envision what parts of the scene are going to be in focus, such as the background for example, and have the character enact something that shows an aspect of the story it's in.
*In the case you want to draw a detailed leaf, try taking a few samples from the nearest bush you can find, or look up references online to try and get a feel for how leaves are formed.

your welcome. As for the leaf, the best advice i can give is to look up references online or go out and pic a couple of leaves. Feel their texture, there veins in your hands and try putting a leaf under a pice of paper and then color with a crayon on top. This way you will be able to see all the little details better.

Wow! The character's design is the best part of the image. I've always had a soft spot for big ol bunny ears x) She also has such a sweet smile.
The background, however, does have a few problems: the trees are a little too fuzzy. I'd recommend sharpening them and giving them more shape, making them more defined. I do like how they're all different colors, though, it adds variety to the image!
I would also suggest you try more interesting lighting. Try not to use the same color, but darker when you're defining shadows. I, personally, love to use a dark blue for my shadows, but when it doesn't work for the color or the mood of the image, I also go with red, purple, and more.
Overall, this is such a nice, happy image, that made me smile the second I saw it ^^ keep up the good work and thank you for putting out such beautiful artwork!
