Age: 26

Gender: Female

Sexual orientation: Pansexual

Talent: Shadow Hoof
Blessing: //

Faction: Vagabonds (Freedom's Flight)

Rank: The Spy
Patron God: None. She knows a lot about the gods but doesn't care to worship them, especially after growing up in Talori with a Goddess that people would die for. She simply thinks now that having a god- believing in a god will only lead to death and pain.
Main Drive: Information seeker

R E L A T I O N S H I P S-

Family (Biological AND non-biological):

➤ Renata | Mare | Apothecary of the Freedom's Flight
➤ Lothos | Father | Talori Agriculturist

P H Y S I C A L-
Build: Izel is slender but sturdy. She has to be light in order to fly as agile-like as she does, but she also needs to be strong so she can carry herself across long distances without rest. She has smooth features, and a small muzzle. Her eyes are large and always showing some train of thought, and her forelock often hangs in between or over them. She has small hooves, which help her to be silent while stalking, and her wings are long and luscious probably the strongest part of her.
Phenotype: Blue Roan

P E R S O N A L I T Y-

♛| Determined | Precise | Calculating | Observational | Withdrawn | Defensive | Critical | Unattached | Passionate |♛

Determined-
Izel doesn't like to let anything get in the way of her plans. She isn't so 'physically' determined, but her mind is constantly running, trying to find ways to reach her goals. If she falls down, she gets back up, if she does something wrong, she backtracks so she can do it again properly. It's rare to see her give up on a task she's been deemed worthy enough to do.

Precise-
Very particular and uncompromising, Izel likes to do things right, she likes to make sure that any job is completed in the exact way it's supposed to. She will study a certain aspect of her surroundings or plans so that she can use her knowledge to her advantage. Sometimes this need can irritate her, but she can't help but feel that whatever she does she cannot be 'sloppy' with.

Calculating-
To coincide with her precise attribute, Izel likes to make sure she knows everything about a certain job before she takes it. If creeping through tunnels, she wants to know the map of the place so she doesn't put a hoof wrong, so she can't make any mistakes. Her eyes are always scanning the area, bringing in every detail to remember and use in her favor.

Observational-
Izel, even if she's just relaxing, is always watching, listening. She likes to be on top of things, and to her that means knowing everything about where she is and who she's talking to. She notices small things, small details that only help her more with her rank when in the field. Her mind is documenting things constantly, and this also helps her to not get lost when venturing out into the world.

Withdrawn-
Less involved socially, more drawn in her work. She doesn't mind a chat, but she would much prefer to be alone or with one other tucked away somewhere studying or working. She likes the comfort of her own mind, but is polite enough to be able to hide her love of social interaction. She's punctual, and it's not exactly and anxiety-driven trait, it's simply her personal choice. Being alone is something she enjoys.

Defensive-
Izel believes strongly in her faction, and fellow Freedom's Flight members. If anyone she comes across- usually Vagabonds- mentions something disrespectful about the group, she will kindly- but harshly- tell them they're wrong. She has never confided in anyone that she is a part of the group, only that she believes in what they do. It's also with anything she has an opinion on, if it's to a certain extent, she'll defend it with her words when others defy her.

Critical-
Especially of the Talori. She hates them with all her heart. She's also very critical of herself, to do a good job. She has lived a long time trying to prove to herself that she's worth this title, and now she's beginning to accept it. If she makes a mistake she will think over it endlessly until she fixes it, and she feels like anyone sacrificed in Talori is blood on her own hooves. She's skeptical of Hippocampi, and won't speak to anyone who believes in what they believe in.

Unattached-
For Izel's work, it seems nigh impossible to keep relationships tied down. She's always travelling, busy. She chooses not to invest her heart in anyone, because she doesn't think she can juggle being a spy of this extent, and being someone's lover. She does feel romance, and doesn't mind the occasional night alone with someone, but even then she usually regrets it, for that could have been time spent helping her herd. She is especially attached to the other pegasi in the Freedom's Flight, but that's about it.

Passionate-
Obviously being in the Freedom's Flight means Izel believes in justice and, well, freedom. She not only believes in this, however, she is extremely passionate about it. She feels everything about this subject ten fold, and sometimes that can get the better of her. She tries not to let it interfere with her work, but sometimes she needs to take time out to gather herself. In a way, she's too attached, but not to other's physically. She's just very empathetic.

H I S T O R Y-

♛Foalhood-♛
She was born into Talori, but it was not meant to be. She was young, so young that she can barely remember waking up in the middle of the night, her mother rushing her from their home, the long journey they made into the mountains. Before that time, Izel's childhood was normal- for the most part. Her mother, Renata, a simple cleric, loved her Pegasus child very much. Being winged was not always easy in Inaria, but her parents tried their darnedest to keep her happy, healthy and out of harms way.
Izel had always known about the sacrifices, her father had made it his job to tell her of their herds customs when she was just a year old. Renata was not so keen on letting her daughter know of the cracks in the moral compass that Talori had, and it often irked her when she caught Lothos revealing to their young foal about the darkness their beautiful herd held. Despite her protests, though, Lothos wanted to ensure Izel knew, it was important she understood these odd traditions so she could grow up used to the fact.

Being a Pegasus, it made sense for most of Izel's friends to have been Pegasi too. Even as a toddler she was good at keeping relations, and was a valued friend to others who needed it. She enjoyed making others happy and could be considered to be a little joker among the foals, always making them laugh until they cried.
Izel's peaceful, uneventful life was short lived when her father fell ill. Poison was the cause, snake venom running through his blood, clotting it and turning it to a thick, jelly-like substance. At first it seemed like a temporary thing, as though Lothos would soon be up and about, healthy as before. But, soon Renata saw that this would not happen. Once this realisation was reached, she kept Izel from seeing him, for it was not a pretty sight. She didn't want her daughter exposed to such sights now, especially not now. So, Izel spent a lot of time away from home, with her friends and her mothers friends, who would occupy her and keep her mind off her ill father. Much time passed, and eventually it came time for her father to move on to the next world. Izel was not there when it happened, and she didn't have much time to comprehend it before her mother violently woke her from her slumber one night.
"Mother, where are we going?" She asked, worry strong in her voice.
"There is no time to explain, Izel, we must go." She said, and with that, her mother and her small self set off into the sky. It was dark, and Izel was not yet accustomed to flying, her wings still small and not yet holding the same muscle as her mothers. She squinted, only able to notice a few other winged figures gliding through the velvet night sky.

None of her questions were answered as they fled from Talori, her mother unsure of what to say. Isis- one of Renata's closest friends, had in part been the reason why they were leaving, along with Lothos' death. The sacrifices had become too much to bear for the paint Pegasus, and she refused to let her daughter grow up among it, or to have possible become one in her life time. So, with that, Izel flew- and was carried by some of the Inner circle- toward the Barrier Mountains where they could be safe. Once there, they began to build on their camp, and for a while Izel didn't get to spend much time with her mother for she was extremely busy getting things ready. But ready for what? Izel didn't know, and so she spent much of her time alone- being the only foal at the camp for now. She often thought back on her home, and her friends. She wanted to ask her mother why they had to leave, why she had to simply accept the fact that she did not belong in Talori anymore. But, her mother was too busy to be able to tell her in full. So she remained quiet on the subject, and instead tried to think out her anguish by climbing high into trees and being alone.

Finally, the day came where Izel met the one. The rescued one. Perseus, a peacock Pegasus with otherwise pale fur, had been brought to the camp, along with a few other Pegasi. More of them? More 'rebels'? Izel watched with curiosity as they brought him- beaten, bruised- to heal him, fix him up. Izel did not get to see, but she did visit him while he was still unconscious, after her mother and friends had done their work on him. She didn't say anything to him, just observed. He was so odd in coloring, beautiful really. She asked her mother why he had come to them in this shape, and she merely brushed her off, but in the subtle way that left Izel wondering if what Renata had said was the truth. She grew up around Perseus, watching him grow stronger until he was strong enough to be declared the leader of the Freedom's Flight. Ready for vengeance, and ready to break down Talori's establishment one pillar at a time.

♛Teen-hood-♛
As the Freedom's Flight grew, so did Izel. She still thought fervently about Talori, but now in a different light. When she was thirteen her mother- now acting as an Apothecary for the rebel group- sat her down and told her why they'd left. Why it was necessary. Izel, even though she'd already grown used to the change, still felt somewhat cheated that her mother didn't think she could take the information at a younger age. She was horrified to hear that innocent horses were being subjected to a life in the sea, drugged, tortured and thrown from a cliff, all for a god? Izel had never been particularly religious, even when living in Talori and being taught the way of the Gods. She was so young, and- perhaps it was because her mind was further developed than the other corrupted foals- but she hadn't been swayed into religion like everyone else. She had always been skeptical.

Now, she simply thought that religion brought only pain and death. How could one think this was ok? Her winged friends when she was there... they were all candidates to be sacrificed? And the fact that many of the Talori citizens thought this to be something honorable, and even envied those who'd been 'chosen'? Izel couldn't believe it. It was insanity. She felt so bad for Perseus, and also determined to help him overcome this, and help those who were yet to go through it.

She'd been hanging around the other's a lot, wanting to learn. Her flying had greatly improved, and she spent her days practicing her abilities in the sky, and on the ground in among the foliage too. She grew more mature and by the age of fifteen was able to fly almost silently through the forests, agile and quick. This, Perseus noticed. Ranks were being established among the group, and soon enough Izel's training would not be for no reason. Her talents were useful, and because of this she was allocated the job of spy. This rank had already been made, and a horse from Talori had already been at that particular job for a while. So, this particular Pegasus, Sonador, was appointed to help Izel train to be a great information seeker. Sonador had the tendency to under estimate Izel, which Izel didn't take kindly to. She understood his worries and concerns, but didn't see it necessary for him to coddle her all the time. She wanted to be her own person, learn her own way of helping the Freedom's Flight, and so in the years that he helped her, much of it was Izel trying to help herself.
Her first missions were simply checking up on whether or not their location had been found out, and as she grew and she gained skill in being stealthy and able, her tasks became more and more important. Her mother was happy that her daughter was aiding their cause, getting involved, though it was obvious her mother worried for her childs safety. Izel did not treat this like a joke, she wasn't contributing for the sake of it. In her heart, her gut, she knew she needed to do this right, do this passionately or many lives would be lost for no particular reason.

Izel made her first real venture back to Talori when she was eighteen. She'd been practicing for this for a long time, and now that she was ready, she was scared. She needed to go and see how many other Pegasi were still safe, and also check out whether or not anyone was still talking about the sacrifice that had gone horribly wrong. The journey lasted a week and she did not get seen, which was her main concern at that point. Overall it was a successful mission, and she delivered her information back to Perseus himself. Everyone was pleased, but she still wouldn't be content until she was back in the field helping physically. Until then, she studied her role ever so obsessively.

♛Adulthood-♛
Izel learnt much from her Primary, and everyone else in the Freedom's Flight. Her mother was always there to give encouraging words, comfort when needed. Izel tried to be in a relationship at one stage, with a stallion who fought for the same cause, but she found it to be disruptive to her lifestyle. Many a time she'd be pained to hear of another sacrifice, and would hide away for a while until she could control herself. It wasn't so much she was too feeble, but she just felt so passionate about the subject. Hatred burnt in her heart whenever she thought of some of her best friends being thrown to the sharks. Perhaps even family members. Though many more had joined the Freedom's Flight- some she knew, and some she didn't- she couldn't help but feel as though there were so many more trapped there in the sick, twisted ways of the Talori.

She eventually became better at calming herself down in times of turmoil, but still found herself alone, in solitude, planning or learning. She wasn't sad, though, she did what she did because she liked it. She loved being a spy, the thrill of the job, she loved fighting for something, feeling needed, wanted. She loved having her mother be proud of her, and Izel be equally as proud as her mother. She had developed her flaws, yes, some she didn't even notice, but overall she was not horrible to be around. She just preferred to be on her own, watching the stars or sky diving in the mountainous areas she lived in.

One morning, she was approached by Perseus, who told her they had a special mission planned. She was to go to Talori, and find out why there was unrest. Off she went, not really expecting to find anything out of the ordinary for the odd herd's ways.

What she found was beyond her wildest nightmares. A child, an innocent, young foal, had been the subject of their sacrifice. The demonic Divine, and the equally as crude Emperor- along with their supporters- had mercilessly murdered this child so Cascade would be appeased. She was shocked, horrified. There was not one cell in her body that wasn't quaking with disgust, and she couldn't help but shed a tear. It... it could have been anyone. That foal could have grown to be infamous, grand, a hero. And now they were sinking to the bottom of the ocean, no chance for life. Because of this, a civil war had broken through the peaceful surface. Hell had essentially broken loose. It was ironic, actually, that they were to appease their Goddess, and instead it looked as though they'd angered her.

Izel found it extremely hard to not get noticed, every avid Cascade believer was pinning their anger upon the Pegasi and rebel members, who were just as furious about the whole ordeal. Izel hadn't been exposed to much violence, so you can imagine the immense amount of discomfort and fear she felt. Numerous times she was sprayed with the blood of another, and found herself tightly squeezed into any shadow or hiding place she could find. Was she cut out for this? She didn't know, but she continued to ask herself as she ventured through the towns, fire blazing and voices screaming their beliefs. Many times Izel didn't think she would make it out, not alive, not with her wings.

But, after what seemed like an eternity, she was finally due to leave. It had taken a while, due to the heavy amount of security checking upon everyone, ensuring they were not against the Emperor, assuring they had no plans on ruining his plans or his rule. She did nearly get caught, but due to the fighting around her, the sheer chaos, the guards could not properly investigate. Once she was in the air, wings flailing furiously, carrying her shaking body, she let her emotions flow, and cried. She cried for the foal, for the foal's family, and for the other Pegasi that were now in danger.
Lucky for her, it began raining, and her tears washed away, camouflaged by the storm. She gained her composure, and prepared herself to tell her Primary what she'd discovered.

She explained, voice staying strong, that Talori was in chaos, ruin. Death was strewn across the once clean alleyways, villages were no longer, and even the glorious temple was empty. Solitude. Worry was clear in her eyes, but she did well to show that her emotions would not get in the way of her duties. She needed to be strong, so that she could continue helping in the best way she could. The important thing she had to remember was that she'd given Perseus important information, information that could save countless lives in the future. With a heavy heart she concluded telling him the bad news.

"Why has this come to pass?" He asked simply.
"It was the ritual, my Primary. They sacrificed a child." The words pained her, but more than ever they fueled her, drove her. Now that she'd seen it, seen the war, she wanted to go back, inspect further. She knew there was more to be discovered, and she was ready. Ready to be the Spy in this operative.

E X T R A-
Notes:
➤ A good singer, but she only usually sings when studying or extremely happy.
➤ Loves rain.
➤ Can let loose, but the only way is usually flying, sky diving thrills her and is how she sometimes vents.
➤ Loves children, but doesn't know if she'd be a good mother or not.
➤ Vendetta against snakes, for obvious reasons.
➤ When her father's death day rolls around, she always takes time to give her condolences- mainly for herself and her mother.
➤ She considers the original rescue group in the Freedom's Flight to be family, and will often address them with nicknames.

Likes: Wind, flying in storms, snow, being in solitude, singing/humming, watching wildlife, practicing her skills, sky diving, apples, rolling, doing a good job, getting praised, being with her mother, the Primary, learning.
Dislikes: The Talori, anyone she cares about getting harmed, death, bitter foods, harsh summers, rude horses, over-sleeping, loud noises, snakes, large crowds of people, horses who think high of themselves (such as the higher ranked Talorians).

Yay! Is there anything particular you would like to RP? If not, I'm planning to get Rena a snake companion eventually since she's into making antidotes (perfect excuse to get a pretty snake, lol). Since Izel has a little vendetta against them, maybe Renata could try breaking the news to her beforehand or something? Idk, I'm bad in plotting
