My mom does the same thing.... I buy my own gifts and even wrap them myself...at least I'm always satisfied with what I get....

I give people presents randomly whenever I see something I think they'd like. I do not usually pay mind to the holidays. Being obligated to give gifts is quite silly to me.

Let me explain it this way.
If the two of them had $100 to spend on gifts for each other, and Guy spent $97 on Wayne's gift, that leaves only $3 for Wayne to spend on Guy.
Cue ass-kicking for crappy gift-giving.

I also thought about it, but this leads to two situations:
1. Either Guy doesn't care about present for her, which explains the whole 'let's get over with it' attitude.
2. But she's GUY, so it would be better for Wayne to buy something better for her. However, no matter what Wayne gives to her or not, he's gonna get it
