The artwork of this deviant was the inspiration for putting together these sketches her Elites are quite beautifully drawn.I was also inspired by this deviant as well her carnivorous airplanes are just the baddest!!!
A whole lot of motivation was also required... These are sketches of Sentinel Carnivores. These biomechanical beasts are the inhabitants of the massive Ark installation, tasked with protecting the 'outside' of the place from intruders. The striped one at the top is a Sentinel Carnivore Major, and the one on the bottom right is a Sentinel Carnivore Minor feeding on the freshly killed carcass of a Brute.
I also played around with the idea of giving them an extending tongue-like appendage, but I don't really like that idea. Giant mandibles and huge fangs are gruesome enough

Thanks! It was quite difficult to get these creatures to a level where I felt comfortable with drawing them... which meant I had to draw the body of a Sentinel from Halo 2 and forgo the body of a Halo 3 Sentinel. That arched body look doesn't suit these Carnivores too well unfortunately...

Just imagine having to fight things like these carnivorous Sentinels when you land on the Ark... and they eat Covenant as well as you so they're everyone's enemy! The Ark needs a bigger population of Sentinels!
