I had to compensate for the low exposure, which made it a little grainy-er than I would have liked. Got to chalk that one up to camera quality and not having my tripod on me, unfortunately. Two things I'm working on remedying.

my tip would be that you exclude these areas from the change (it works in photoshop, don't know which program you use???) you know, like you can change only eyecolor on a photo and stuff...
but i don't know if this will make an odd contrast... (I'm not a profi myself)

That's what I did, actually. I had to lighten the underexposed barn while keeping the sky fairly dark. Unfortunately too much manipulation in the form of dodging and burning reduces quality, and that's what you're seeing here. It's either clean but underexposed, or properly exposed and noisy. Being able to shoot in RAW or taking a triple exposure bracket via a tripod would fix that problem, as I stated earlier, but I could do neither at the time of taking this photo, so I had to settle for imperfection.
