Of course. I really liked a lot of your conceptual work. I'm fairly confident in my technical photographic ability and catching spontaneous moments, but I have never been quite as good at planning my shots, and I really like the setup and unorthodox nature of much of your work. Hopefully I can learn a thing or two from it.

Thank you! My planned shots are quite spontaneous anyway, as strange as it might sound. Whenever I see an interesting object that could represent something deeper I try and see what I can get out of it

Hi there! I'm back from Alaska, and unfortunately the nature of my work was such that, while I did bring my camera, I did not produce any pictures worth publishing. The only times when I was in a situation worth photographing, I was working and couldn't take a break, or else the weather was too dangerous to take a camera out in. However, I expect Japan to be a completely different story as far as photography goes, and even bought a new accessory (a hefty battery grip) to prepare for long periods in mountain temples where I will have no access to wall outlets.

Not yet but I might cave one of these days. It's tricky. Otherwise things have been busy. I'm presenting a paper I wrote on Plague doctors at a conference in Seattle this Friday, which is pretty cool.
