When I first saw Bolt I thought it was alright--pleasant, easy to watch. But after watching it a few more times, it's really grown on me. It's just so sweet! I even get a little misty-eyed near the ending.
The only thing that really bothers me about Penny... is that her name is Penny. We already have a Penny, Disney. You know, from The Rescuers.
Anyway, I had to include Mittens, Rhino and Bolt because... well I just wanted to draw them. So nyeh.

Well and the other thing I dislike about Penny is that she's voiced by Miley Cyrus. No, not because I hate her, just that her voice.... did not really fit well with the character at all.

You might wanna retitle of your picture of both 'Penny's. You should title this one 'Penny (Bolt)' and the other one 'Penny (The Rescuers)'

She could be the original Penny from The Rescuers, only in Bolt she's a teenager. Or more likely, since I just realized that Bolt takes place in the modern day, maybe she had a very identical looking daughter who was named after her. Just a theory!

That could be true, but the Penny, from 'Bolt', lives in Las Angeles, CA. And Penny, from 'The Rescuers', lives in New York.

I think this Bolt is based on Inspector Gadget and that is why she is called Penny? ^^

The story is an orginal Disney, but I think that the TV-world in Bolt might me "inspired" by Inspector Gadget since she have to rescue her dad, a dog with superpowers that only she can understand, a villain with a cat, and the fact that her name is Penny in the show? The movie itself is as you say not based on Inspector Gadget ^^

I didn't think she was that obscure... but then again, that's probably because I was given a plushie toy version of her when I was in pre-school, so she automatically became one of my favorites by default.

I can't watch Bolt, either. I pretty much start sniffling at the beginning, but I hold it until the reunion scene. Then it's full-on "B'AWWW I LOVE YOU BOLT." And I have to go cuddle my dog.
