The Lost BoysGraphite & Charcoal on Rising Bristol
About 20+ hours Phew!
Ok, so I'm not terribly happy with this one - first time I just got sick of it & gave up. Mixed with charcoal & graphite together, it probably wasnt the right paper for it - I had charcoal everywhere! Doing tiny faces (less than an inch!) was a learning curve though, just how few lines can you have to use make someone look like the person they are.

Oh!! Ha ha i just thought of another annoyance of drawing. Your shading a big area right?? And a dark line appears out of nowhere cause its picking up something under your paper! Ahhhh haaa! Now tell me with a straight face this never happened to you...uhhh omg

lol THAT happens to me all the tiem because I use a drawing board that only just fits my paper & kind of slopes off on the edges, so whenever I do backgrounds I have to move the paper around near the edge.... do you think I can ever remember to do this?

Really? It white paper or a stiff board with black ink covering it. You actually scratch off the ink to expose white paper. You have to think in reverse when doing it cause your obviously scratching in white instead of black like pencil. Kinda fun.

That sucks hey - I've managed to cover up nearly all of mine - but there were times when I didn't think it was going to happen - My "Cain" I started three times on 3 different papers!

Well I ordered tons of different types from dick Blick so I have all sorts - currently its strathmore bristol smooth 300 - I like to try different ones ( I've written each type on my pics so I would remember) but so far thats my fave!

lol - I hate the 400 series!!! That vellum is a joke! Thats what I started one of my Cains on & I just couldn't use it - it was horrible!

Its in pads its supposed to be one of the best & its pretty expensive - I didn't mind it (its my Indiana) but I think its vellum - its one of the better ones I've used though
